Monthly Wrap Up

January Wrap Up

Hello bookworms!!

I can’t believe January is already coming to an end. It seems like it was just yesterday when we rang in the new year. Where has the time gone? My first wrap up of the year and I am pretty happy with my progress. I ended up reading 7 books and I have started 2 more books but I want finish them this month so we just want talk about them.

I am going to be doing something a little different for my monthly wrap ups this year. Since I am participating in so many challenges this year I thought I would do a challenge stats at the end of my wrap ups to let ya’ll know how I am doing on each one. I will Also tell you my favorite read of the month and if something exciting happens in the month I will talk about that as well.

Books I read

Corrupt Me By Jillian Quinn Review I received this books from the author in exchange for an honest review

Breakwater by Errin Stevens Review

The Invitation by Roxy Sloane Review

Mine For Tonight by J.S. Scott Review

Heartless by Marissa Meyer Review

The Last Star & Other Stories by DL Orton Review

Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James (I plan on doing a complete series review after I have re-read them)

Favorite book of the Month

I have re-read Fifty Shades of Grey like five times so obviously I love that trilogy but I am not going to go with the obvious. I am going to go with a new release book and a new author. My favorite book of the month just happened to be the first book I read this month and that was Corrupt Me by Jillian Quinn. Jill is a fellow book blogger and now a debut author. If you aren’t already following her blog you should go follow her now at Rant and Rave About Books. So back to the book. It was simply amazing. There was a strong female lead, a swoon worthy male lead(who by the way is my new book boyfriend in case you wanted to know), and a great story line with some plot twists. If you want to read my review on it click the link above.

Blogging

This month I had my very first author guest post from non other than Jillian Quinn, you know the author/book I just raved about for like 5 minutes, yeah that author lol. Sorry guys I am being weird. So anyways like I was saying Jillian did my very first author guest post and because it was my first one it’s kind of special to me. I was always kind of scared to do stuff like that because I had never done it and I wasn’t sure what it would entail. Needless to say I was worried over nothing. If you would like to read her post on Why Social Media is the Key to Success click the link.

Challenge Stats

  • Goodreads  7/60 books read
  • Alphabet Soup 7/26 books read
  • ReReadIt  1/12 books read
  • Pages Read 1,642/24,000 pages read
  • Beat the Backlist 5/48 books read

I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. I got the idea for keeping up with my challenges this way from Kendra @ Reads and Treats. If you aren’t already following her blog you should definitely go do that now!!

Well that’s a wrap guys. How did this month treat you? Did you read as much as you hoped? How much did you end up reading? How are you getting along with your challenges? Also, please let me know if you like this set up for my wrap ups or do you think it’s a little to much?

  1. 7 books! That’s awesome! A lot better than I did this month. I also read Corrupt Me, but you already knew that 😉 And I read Mine for Tonight a few years ago. I really liked that series!

  2. 7 books is great! And seriously. WHERE HAS JANUARY GONE?! Tomorrow starts February. How?! I think the older I get, the more time flies right on by! I don’t even remember where I got the idea to add my challenges at the bottom of my wrap-ups. I think it was that a long time ago, someone asked about my progress towards the end of the month, so I just included it. Lol It’s also nice to look back and the end of the month and see how far you’ve come. Keep it up!

    1. I completely agree the older I have gotten the quicker time seems to fly by. I figured up to reach my Goodreads goal of 60 books I need to read at least 5 books a month so I am ahead of schedule. I liked the idea and it makes it so much easier to keep up with. Thank you!

  5. I want to re-read the Grey series again too, they’re some of my favourite books! Such a good wrap up and I love the idea of your challenges, I’m only doing a Goodreads challenge but I’m determined to do more rereads this year and to read a book more than 1,000 pages, that book being, IT by Stephen King 😂 well done on reading 7 books!! – Sarah xoxo

    1. Thank you so much Sarah. I am re reading the Grey series for the re read it challenge and it proven to be really difficult for me to only read one of them a month. I wanted to start the last one immediately after I finished the second one this month. I hope I get around to reading some of Stephen Kings books this year.
