Goodreads Synopsis

A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

Playing dirty can be the best kind of fun…

Chloe Franklin wouldn’t call herself a commitment-phobe, so much as she’s allergic to anything long term. She loves the sexy, sweaty, and intensely hot hours of the night that come before the sun rises, though. Especially when those nights are spent with Search-and-Rescuer Gage McGraw…

Gage loves his job, but there is one thing he’s starting to like more than the rush of a mission—a stacked blonde with a mouth that haunts his dreams. Every time he steps foot in the sleepy town of Beaufort, he hooks up with Chloe. But he’s tired of hooks-ups. He wants more.

Just the sight of Gage gets Chloe’s blood going. Hot, bothered, and finally naked, she’s ready for their night to start. But before he takes her, he whispers what his intentions really are…and then the games really begin.

My Review

**This book is for mature audiences only!!**

This was my first Joya Ryan book and it definitely want be my last. There was really nothing amazing about this book but I loved the story. You get two main characters (Chloe and Gage) both of which are commitment phobes. Chloe is afraid to commit to a person (Gage) and Gage is afraid to commit to a place (in this case Chloe’s hometown). They have been having a sexual relationship for two years every time Gage comes into town for his job with Search and Rescue. After Gage’s near death experience he realizes he wants more than just a sexual relationship with Chloe and he is thinking about them entering into a long distance relationship. Will both of their walls come down or are they in for heartache?

Like I said there was nothing that really stood out about this story but I couldn’t help but be drawn into their relationship. I loved the banter between Chloe and Gage and I found myself laughing out loud at some of the stuff they said to each other on more than one occasion. I will say that Chloe fighting the way she felt about Gage kind of started getting on my nerves toward the end but it didn’t keep me from rooting for them and enjoying the rest of the story. I will say the sexiness in this book was HOT! This was a quick read for me and I ended up reading it in one sitting.

If you are in the mood for a quick contemporary new adult romance read this is the book for you!!
