Goodreads Synopsis
The Chaos of Longing is a prose and poetry collection draped in raw honesty, ache, and eroticism. The collection explores trauma, love, heartbreak, and the realizations from it all.
The book is divided into four sections. “Inception” briefly examines formative years and its effects on how one loves. “Longing” reflects on love and sexuality. “Chaos” explores toxic relationships, unrequited love, and heartache. After chaos, there is order with self-love and healing poems in “epiphany”.

My Thoughts
I want to start by saying this is my first time ever reading a collection of poetry so bare with me.
heartbroken
once a heart learns
how to break,
it does not know
how to forget.
in endures
sleepless nights
memorizes
every morsel
of despair
and relives
every moment
in the stillness
of tears.
The Chaos of Longing is divided into four parts titled inception, longing, chaos, and epiphany. It is full of beautifully written poems that take you on a journey from the authors childhood until now. K.Y. Robinson is very open and raw in her writing and I loved that. Even though I didn’t feel that deep connection that most readers seem to be feeling I really did enjoy following along with her journey and seeing her realize her self-worth.
Do you enjoy reading poetry? Have you read this poetry book? Do you have any suggestions of poetry books you think I should read? I would love to talk to you in the comments.
