My 2018 Bullet Journal

Hello bookworms!!

Today I have a little bit of a different post for you. I did a twitter poll asking if those who followed my blog would be interested in seeing my bullet journal set up for this year and everyone who voted said yes. So that’s what I’m going to do today. Most of what I share with you is going to be Bookish pages but there will also be some pages that aren’t. I just want to mention that I am not very creative and I mess up a lot. I tend to get inspiration for my bullet journal from others so I will leave links to the creators that I got inspiration from if I can remember. Ok so let’s jump in shall we.

First up is my cover page. I watched a YouTube video from Seventeen. The girl was doing her 2018 bullet journal setup. When I saw her cover page for the year I knew I wanted to try and recreate it. I changed the words and the colors but for the most part it’s the same. Next up I did my year at a glance and future log. For the year at a glance I used stickers from Sunshine Sticker Co. on Etsy. While I like the stickers I think it looks better when I draw it out myself. I have been wanting to get washi tape for the longest time so while I was looking for stickers I found some washi tape that I really liked plus it was on sale so I had to finally get some. The washi that you will see throughout my journal I ordered from DaisyGreyPretties on Etsy. For the future log I will be keeping up with holidays, birthdays, appointments, etc.

I came across this bill tracker on pinterest but I am not sure of who it was that did it. I’ve been tacking my bills like this for a while now. Here’s where I messed up a little. This spread should have been 2 pages because I have more than 7 bills but it’s to late to fix it now. Next up I wanted a page to track my social media stats. I did this last year I just decided to change it up a little. This is where my next mistake happened. I realized I put “starting” in the column section when I should have put it in the row section. I kind of fixed it but I have to figure out how to cover my mistake. Last up is my wishlist which I kept very basic with a little washi tape.

These next two pages are probably my favorites. I’m especially happy with my music of 2018 spread. My goal is to write down everything that I obsessively listen to in 2018. That doesn’t mean that the song came out in 2018 though. I plan to do the same thing with the movies and tv shows watched. I’m thinking of drawing popcorn kernels with the name of what I watched inside them but I haven’t decided for sure yet because as you can tell I’m not a very good artist.

I came across The Seaside Bujo on YouTube. I watched her 2018 setup post where I saw her waiting on spread. Me and my husband do a pretty good amount of online shopping so I knew I wanted to include this spread. Next up I wanted a space to keep track of the ARCs I get in the year. I’m not 100% sure where I first saw this spread but I think I came across it on pinterest, again sorry but I’m not sure. If you know who the creator is please let me know so I can give them the credit they deserve. And then there’s my books read in 2018 spread. Again I kept this very basic. Last year I didn’t have enough space so I ended up making this a 3 page spread.

So I’ve never been one for keeping up with releases each month but I decided this year I wanted to keep up with the ones I am interested in reading sometime. I created this spread only to realize I didn’t have enough space to include all the books so I had to come up with another plan which I will talk more about later if y’all are interested in seeing my monthly spreads. The next two spreads are challenges I am participating in. Pages Read and Alphabet Soup. I will be doing a post on those later this week.

If you saw yesterdays post you’ve already seen my goals spread if not the you can check it out here for more on that. Next up is a got vs. read spread which was all Payton’s idea. We were sending each other pictures of what we were doing in our journals and when she sent me this one I was like OMG I need to do that and thankfully she let me steal borrow her idea. Another page that is very basic is my thoughts page. Basically I am going to use this page for things that don’t fit anywhere else. So like a brain dump page.

Well that was all of my yearly spreads. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Also would y’all be interested in seeing my monthly spreads? If so please let me know.

      1. Good thing you did😉 I will take a look at Pinterest, with caution, because it is like a black hole and I end up spending hours and hours looking at all that gorgeous eye candy 😇

    1. Thanks is was all Payton’s idea from Payton’s Book Thoughts on Instagram. I never even thought about how it would work for challenges like that I just thought it would be a good way to keep up with how many I read compared to how many I get.

  1. I like the look of yours! It’s basic, true, but it doesn’t have to be all artsy and perfect anyway! I’d love one of those, but I simply don’t have the time to create it anyway, haha.
Love seeing bullet journal posts by the way. I’m definitely curious to see what your monthly spreads look like! I’m considering maybe making a post with my bullet journal spreads as well but I’m still contemplating, haha.

    1. Thank you!! Yeah I try to incorporate a little color or drawings here and there to make it look kind of done up. I wish I was more of an artist but I’m not so I do what I can and I’m really happy with how it looks. I love bullet journal posts as well. I will do my monthly spreads probably toward the end of the month or the beginning of next month. I would love to see your spreads. I always love seeing how other people set up their journals.

      1. I mostly went with printing off images, honestly. Made it more fun for me to find things I’d like to use. We all have our own way of doing this!
I’ll be keeping an eye out for those posts! And contemplate further on maybe making a post of my own this weekend, haha.

      2. Yeah I thought about printing off some images to fill up some of the empty space I have but then decided against it because it’s to much work lol. I would have to get my printer out and hook it up every time. I look forward to seeing that post if you decide to do it.

      3. Ooh, yeah, that definitely adds a lot of work to it! My printer has its fixed spot so I don’t really have to bother with all that, haha.
I miiiight! I’m getting ready to start on my blog prep so we’ll see where my schedule leaves me. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much. As much as I would love to be able to decorate my spreads I’m just not creative enough so I stick to just adding some color and washi tape to spruce it up. I would love for you to use whatever spread you like. I got my inspiration from others. Yes it is definitely very time consuming but I love it and it’s so relaxing just be able to sit and journal for awhile. Thank you again that makes me so happy!!

      1. i’m not creative either but i also have to say, that i prefer simplicity more than too much. it’s easier for me to focus on what’s important. not that i don’t like the real artistic bullet journals i see around. i can’t do it though but it’s totally fine. it’s supposed to be fun and should work for you. that’s the best thing about it. 🙂
