It’s Monday What Are You Reading?

What I Recently Finished ReadingHunting Prince Draculaimg_3673

I finished two books this week. The first one being my buddy read with Payton of Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco. This is the second book in the Stalking Jack the Ripper series and I absolutely loved it. I finished I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan late yesterday evening and it wasn’t what I was expecting at all. I watched the movie long before I ever read the book and after finally reading the book I prefer the movie. I haven’t posted my reviews for these yet but hopefully they will be up in the next week or so.

What I'm Currently Reading

The Shining

I am making progress on The Shining. It’s slow progress but progress none the less. I’m currently on page 297/683. I haven’t technically started The Girl on the Train yet but I will be starting it sometime today.

What I Plan To Read Next

I’m not sure which one of these I will be picking up after I finish The Girl on the Train but these are what’s left on my TBR not including the second and third book in the Divergent trilogy.

Credit as always to The Book Date. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What have you been reading lately?

    1. I started the audiobook of IT by Stephen Ling last year but I have yet to finish that one. I’m into the story but there’s only so much of his writing I can take which is why I usually just read 50+ pages at a time and then read something else.

  1. Read The Shining last year and it freaked me out, haha. I fell in love with King’s writing though; can’t wait to read more of his work!
Also liked Girl on the Train but I don’t think I’ll ever reread it. It’s one of those “once you know what happened, you don’t really feel the need to reread it”-kind of books for me.

      1. He’s definitely very descriptive but it’s what I liked about it because I felt like he did it in a way that didn’t bother me at all. I have IT on my TBR but I have no clue yet when I’m going to read it. April is all about King-books for me but I think I’d rather pick up his.. thinner books first, haha.

      2. You know now that I’m thinking of it I think the next Time Topple readathon is in April(I’m not 100% sure about that) and I was waiting for the next round to pick up IT again so that might end up on my TBR for April. Sometimes the description isn’t to bad but other times it annoys the crap out of me. Like why do I need a full chapter on all the food that’s in the kitchen?

      3. Oh my lord; is there a chapter like that? Because, that would be pretty amazing for my review-munches? Haha!
No, I totally get you. With The Shining I was so lost in the actual story that it simply didn’t bother me at all that it was so descriptive. Maybe in one of his other books it will; we’ll see.

  2. I’m on a romance kick. I’m reading A Hope Divided by Alyssa Cole cause I read and loved the first book in the series called An Extraordinary Union. Great list you got there and I’m glad you enjoyed the first couple you read. 🙂
