It’s Monday What Are You Reading?

What I Recently Finished Readingimg_3666img_3669

I finished two books again this week. The first book I finished was The Girl on the Train. I was skeptical going into this book because of all the negative things I have heard about it but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. My full review will be going up on Wednesday. The next book I finished was Forrest Gump which I actually just managed to finish yesterday afternoon. This is another book that I didn’t realize was a book. I have seen the movie several times and loved it but unfortunately the book wasn’t my favorite. My full review of this will be going up sometime soon.

What I'm Currently Reading

The Shiningimg_3672

Yes I am still making progress with The Shining and yes that progress is still slow going. I am really hoping I can some how manage to finish this book by the end of the month as well as the other two I plan to read. I am currently on page 365/683. I haven’t started Divergent yet but I will be picking it up today.

What I Plan To Read Next

Replica is my second buddy read with Payton and the plan is to start reading it on the 26th. That gives me all of this week to finish Divergent and to get as much of The Shining read as I can.

Credit as always to The Book Date. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What have you been reading lately?

  1. I’m currently still trying to get through The Forgotten Girls by Saras Blaedel and also The Magicians by Lev Grossman.
I just recently finished a couple short trashy romance novels… it’s easy to set aside my “big” books that take longer to read when I can finish a smaller one in a day. But now I’m focused and plan on having both of these read before the end of the month.
Next on my list is Staked by Kevin Hearne (book 8 in the Iron Druid Chronicles) and also Book two of the Magicians series…

    1. Sounds like you have a lot of reading ahead of you. I haven’t heard of any of them books you mentioned before. I like to throw in some shorter books as well because it makes me feel like I’m making progress.

      1. I’m worried that if I flip back and forth between each person that that would get old pretty fast. But in the other hand I’m worried that if I read one person at a time that it will be like reading the same thing twice.

      2. Oh I can understand that. Personally I thought it worked really well, cos the chapters were nicely connected, but it won’t feel like reading it the same way twice if you do read it one person at a time, cos they’re different stories.
