Ashley’s Questions:

Who is your favourite animal (or non-human) character from a book?

I am trying to remember an animal (or non-human) character from a book I have read and the only thing I can think of is Buckbeak the Hippogriff in Harry Potter. I loved Buckbeak and he’s such a beautiful creature.

Have you ever preferred the movie to the book?

Yes!! I can think of 3 right off the bat 2 of which were recent reads for me and those are The Outsiders, Forrest Gump, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. All three of these I liked the movie more than the book. I know there are other movies that I have preferred over the book but I can’t think of them right now.

What book does everyone love but you refuse to read? Why?

I wouldn’t say that I refuse to read this book maybe I will some day but as of right now I have no desire whatsoever to read Ready Player One because I have never been a gamer and I think I would be bored reading it.

What hobbies do you enjoy other than reading and blogging?

I don’t really do much else besides reading and blogging. I don’t know if this is considered a hobby or not but I love painting my nails and I have amassed a decent size collection of nail polish.

What book has the best food?

Umm…. Harry Potter is the only thing that comes to mind for this one.

Ever read a book that kept you up at night (for better or for worse)?

Like kept me up reading it or kept me up after finishing it?? If you mean kept me up reading it then yes. I remember staying up all night reading The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks until my husband got home from work the next morning. If you mean kept me up after I had finished it then no I don’t think I have ever finished a book and then wasn’t able to go to sleep.

What book do you always recommend to people?

I haven’t really recommended any books to anyone specifically. I always just rave and rave about my favorites like any of Nicholas Sparks books.

What book has been on your ‘to read’ list for way too long?

I have way to many but I think the one that has been on my list the longest is Until The End by Christopher Pike which is actually a bind up of three books.

Do you watch tv or listen to music while you’re blogging?

Not really because I have a hard time concentrating. Usually I will just listen to ocean sounds on YouTube to help me focus or I like it to be quite.

Do you have any blogging pet peeves?

Honestly no I don’t have any blogging pet peeves.

Any advice for new bloggers?

Blogging is meant to be fun so don’t stress over it and stay true to you.

I am not going to be tagging anyone today because I don’t have time to come up with all the questions and link to everyone. Just know that I believe each and everyone of you deserves this award.

  1. I was super excited to see you did this! I agree Buckbeak was a pure lovely creature. I think he gets stuck in Hedwig’s shadow sometimes when it comes to Harry Potter creatures. And agreed with The Outsiders! I haven’t read Forest Gump but I LOVE the film and I’ve heard other people feel the same way about the book vs. movie as you. I think nail care is a great hobby and super creative. And if you have a ton of nail polish (which I’m super jealous of!) then that’s also a collection which is another hobby! Harry Potter definitely has the best food. I think any scenes involving eating in the great hall makes me want to visit Hogwarts more than anything else. I love when books hook you so much you stay up all night, it’s one of the best feelings to be that completely immersed in what you’re reading. I’ve actually never read any Nicholas Sparks books, I should really give his stuff a chance!

Thanks for doing this, I loved reading your answers!! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for the tag and sorry it took me so long to do it. You know I never even thought of Hedwig but I do love him too. Nicolas Sparks has been my favorite author for as long as I can remember. I’m a sucker for romance and all of his books have romance but they are so realistic. His characters go through real life things and I just love it.

      1. I told myself this year I would try reading more romance because it’s a genre I don’t read at all. So maybe I should start with a Nicolas Sparks book :). Which one would you suggest I check out first?

      2. That’s always a hard question for me to answer because I genuinely love all of his books but one that I always recommend is The Last Song. That book kept me up all night reading it and made me cry several times

  2. I loved Ready Player One! Tho I understand its geared toward a fairly small audience base, and not everyone would like it. But it is a lot more than just video games. It is full of 80s culture references. So there are a lot of references to movies and music, in addition to the video game stuff. I read a post (that I really wish I could find now) that went through and pulled out all the movie references and I think there was about 80 movies listed!
