Most Popular Books On My TBR

Hello bookworms!!

I got the idea to do this post from Kristin Kraves Books. I thought it would be fun to go through my TBR and see which books are the most popular. All you have to do is go to your Goodreads TBR shelf and sort your books by the number of ratings (“num ratings” in the dropdown bar at the bottom), and then show off which 10 books are the most widely read/rated on your TBR!

I was a little worried that every book was going to end up being a classic because I have a lot of those on my TBR but I was pleasantly surprised to see that that wasn’t the case at all.

1.) The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

2,087,581 ~ 4.12 avg. rating

I was surprised to see that this one has the most ratings because I haven’t heard people talking about it much at all.

2.) The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

1,998,954 ~ 4.27 avg. rating

This one doesn’t surprise me at all. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this book and I hope I get around to reading it soon.

3.) Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

1,751,679 ~ 4.04 avg. rating

Again not really surprised because I hear people talking about this a lot.

4.) The Help by Kathryn Stockett

1,716,668 ~ 4.46 avg. rating

I hear people talk about this one occasionally. I guess I’m a little surprised it’s so high on the list.

5.) A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

1,573,865 ~ 4.45 avg. rating

I mean this doesn’t really surprise anyone does. I thought this one would be higher on the list actually.

6.) The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

1,538,693 ~ 4.23 avg. rating

Again no surprise here.

7.) The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

1,405,867 ~ 4.36 avg. rating

Again no surprise that this is in the top ten but I thought it would be higher on the list as well. This is a book I have high expectations for.

8.) The Giver by Lois Lowry

1,391,896 ~ 4.12 avg. rating

I haven’t heard a lot of people talking about this one but it doesn’t surprise me that it’s on this list.

9.) Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

1,384,480 ~ 4.05 avg. rating

Of course there was going to be a classic on this list. I wouldn’t have guessed it would be this one though.

10.) The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

1,371,611 ~ 3.95 avg. rating

Ok this one is a complete surprise to me. I never would have guessed this would be in the top ten.

For the most part I wasn’t all that surprised with the top ten books on this list with the exception of one and a couple I thought would have been higher on the list. I would love to know your thoughts on the books on this list and if you think I should read any of them sooner rather than later. I’m thinking maybe I should do a post on the highest rated books on my TBR. What do y’all think?

    1. I have a copy of Little Women somewhere but it’s short. I definitely want to read The Giver and The Kite Runner hopefully this year sometime. I want to read Percy Jackson but that’s one I’m not in a hurry to read at all.

  1. We have a lot of books in common, Misty! Although I’ve already read some of them, but I’ve had my eye on Rick Riordan books as well! I haven’t read Gone Girl either… need to read them soon!

  2. I can’t believe such popular books are still on your TBR!! You just HAVE to read Little Women and The Lightening Thief as soon as you can! The other books are also wonderful and I’m honestly surprised you haven’t read them! I hope you read these books soon and can’t wait to hear your thoughts on them!🖤

  3. I get what you mean about girl with the dragon tattoo- I vaguely remember it being popular a long time ago, but I rarely see anyone talking about it (I’ve not read it yet though). Oh definitely recommend Kite Runner and Gone Girl! And I’m recently getting into Percy Jackson- it’s so good! I really hope you love Book thief and little women! Great post!
