Monthly Wrap Up

May Wrap Up 2018

Wrap Up

Hello bookworms!!

May was a pretty uneventful month for me. I didn’t read as much as I had planned because I spent most of my time this month binge watching stuff of Netflix and Hulu but more on that later. Yeah so that’s all I really have to update y’all on so lets just jump right into the post shall we.

Books Read

# of books read: 6

# of pages read: 2,129

  1. The Selection by Kiera Cass (RTC)
  2. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (RTC)
  3. Anxiety Girl by Lacey London (RTC)
  4. Between You and Me by Lisa Hall (RTC)
  5. I Hope My Voice Doesn’t Skip by Alicia Cook (4 stars)
  6. Shift by M.A. George (4 stars)

As always I am behind on my reviews but I will get them posted eventually. If y’all seen my May TBR post you know I had a friend pick the books I was going to read. I had her pick 8 books and out of those 8 books I only read 2 of them so I would say that was a complete fail. I do have 2 of the books she picked on my June TBR so I will still be reading them but more on that in my TBR post coming Friday. Overall though I am happy with the 6 books I did manage to read even though I didn’t stick to my TBR and didn’t read as many books as I would have liked to. While all of these books were pretty good none of them blew me away but if I had to pick a favorite then I would have to go with The Selection.

What I Watched

Ok like I mentioned earlier I binge watched a lot of shows and movies this month so this is going to be a pretty long section so you might want to grab some popcorn and something to drink.

I’m a big fan of the first Tremors movie with Kevin Bacon in it but they have gradually gotten stupider and stupider but I keep watching them for some reason.

Viewer Discretion is Advised

All of the Fifty Shades movies are out and I own all of them as well as the books. I love the books but overall I’m not a huge fan of the movies for a couple reasons one being I don’t think they got the casting right and second they left out so much that I think should have been included.

I finally watched Baywatch. It wasn’t the greatest but it was pretty funny and I found it entertaining. There was a lot of vulgar language and I saw something I was not expecting to see lol.

I watched The Phantom of the Opera for the first time in my high school chorus class and I have loved it ever since. Every once in a while I get the urge to rewatch it.

In May I binge watched seasons 1-3 of The 100. Season 4 is available on Netflix but I forced myself not to watch it because season 5 isn’t available yet and I knew I would want to keep watching so I am holding off on it.

Aside from all of that I also watched a few other shows that I can’t find trailers for and those were Dancing With The Stars Athletes Edition, Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 & 14, and Bones Season 12. I enjoy all of these shows but Bones is my favorite and unfortunately season 12 was the Series Finale.

What I Listened To

I listened to several new songs in May after not having any new ones in April. The one I have listened to like a thousand times since it came out is Don’t Go Breaking My Heart by the Backstreet Boys. I grew up listening to them and I am an unapologetic fangirl.

Challenge Stats

  • Goodreads – 36/100 books read
  • Pages Read – 11,749/24,000 pages read
  • Alphabet Soup – 15/26 books read

That’s a wrap on another month. I can’t believe we are already into the 6th month of the year. I am still behind on my Goodreads goal and I have now fallen a little behind on my pages read goal but I am still working on catching up. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? Have we watched or listened to any of the same things? What was May like for you?
