24 Hour Readathon Wrap Up (June 2018)

Hello bookworms!!

Y’all are getting an extra post from me this week. This weekend from 8 PM on the 29th to 8 PM on the 30th I participated in the 24 hour readathon that is hosted by Lili and Noriko. They do this readathon every last weekend of the month and I have been wanting to participate since they started it but it never worked for me until now. I didn’t read for a full 24 hours but we will get into that so lets just see what I was able to accomplish in 24 hours.

The Afterlife of Walter Augustus

I started off the readathon at 8 PM on the 29th by reading The Afterlife of Walter Augustus by Hannah Lynn. I started it 5% into the book because I had started it previously. I knew I wasn’t going to be staying up to read so I planned to read from 8-10 on Friday and then go to bed and wake up and start fresh on Saturday. I did end up reading from 8-10 Friday I made it to 34% in my book however I started a little later than I had planned on Saturday.

When I was reading Friday I had a headache but I forced myself to read through it which wasn’t a good idea because by the time I went to bed my headache was so bad that I was feeling really sick. I woke up Saturday morning still having a headache so I took something and I was going to pick up my book around lunch time hoping my meds had started to kick in. I ended up continuing on with The Afterlife of Walter Augustus at 1 PM and read until 3:30 because unfortunately I had a little adulting to do. At this point I was 73% through my book.

After I finished my laundry I started reading again at 4 Pm and I finished my book at 5:30 PM. Even though I had had so many breaks at this point I decided to take another one before I started another book.

IT stephen

By the time I started my next book there was only 2 hours left in the readathon. I listened to the audiobook of IT by Stephen King from 6 PM to 7:30 PM where I finished all of 40 pages. As with the other book I read I started this book forever ago so I was already 250 pages into when I picked it up for this readathon and I ended on page 290. The chapters for this book are so long so I decided to call it quits at 7:30 because I didn’t want to have to stop in the middle of a chapter.

Final Results

Total hours read: 7 1/2

Total books read: 2

Total books completed: 1

Total pages read: 439

I had so much fun participating in this readathon and I am looking forward to being able to participate in another one. Even though I didn’t do what I had originally planned to do I am really happy with my final results.

    1. I hadn’t heard of it before either until the author reached out to me. I’m still behind on all my reviews but hopefully I will get caught up on them soon. Thank you and hopefully I will be able to participate next time as well. I need to write it down so I don’t forget about it.
