I finished another 3 books this week. Two of which I just realized were poetry collections. The first book I read was Unrealistic Dreams by Yool Wie. The author messaged me on Goodreads asking if I would be interested in reading his poetry collection and reviewing it. Of course I said yes. I haven’t reviewed it yet but I really enjoyed it. It’s a very positive and uplifting collection of poems. Next up I read The Afterlife of Walter Augustus by Hannah Lynn. If you saw yesterdays 24 Hour Readathon Wrap Up (June 2018) post then you know I read this book during that readathon. It was very slow going for the first half of the book but the last half picked up and I ended up really enjoying it. My review for this will be going up during the blog tour on the 18th. Last up I listened to Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur and unfortunately this didn’t work for me. Maybe it’s because I shouldn’t have listened to it but I didn’t have any connection with any of the poems. I didn’t feel anything. I thought it was just ok.
Tome Topple round 6 started on the 29th of June so I have started reading IT by Stephen King again in the hopes that I will actually finish it this time. So far I have only listened to 40 pages of it which puts me almost 300 pages into it but this book is over 1000 pages long. Fingers crossed that I will finally finish this massive book.
This month I am participating in Kathy’s from Books and Munches monthly challenge Sci-Fi July and I have decided to try and read The Illuminae files trilogy again. On top of everything else I am participating in this month this might prove to be a little ambitious but I am going to try my best. My full TBR will be going up Wednesday.
Credit as always to The Book Date. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What have you been reading lately? Are you participating in any readathons or challenges? Which ones?
