It’s Monday What Are You Reading?

What I Recently Finished Reading

Anne of Green GablesGeminaSee You Soon, AftonObsidio

This week I finished 4 books which I am really happy with considering 2 of them were over 500 pages long. Not only was it a good week in the amount of books I read but also in quality. Anne of Green Gables, Gemina, and Obsidio were all 5 star reads and See You Soon, Afton was a 4 star read. Like I say pretty much every single time I do this post I am behind on my reviews so I don’t have any of these reviews posted yet but hopefully I will catch up soon.

What I'm Currently Reading

IT stephenheart born

I am still working my way through it. I’ve been listening to a chapter a day recently so if I continue at this pace I should finish in about 10 days. I’m currently on page 709/1,156 pages. I started Heartborn which was sent to me a year ago. I can’t believe it has taken me a year to get to this book it makes me feel like such a book blogger. At least I am reading it now. Better late than never right? I am currently 33% through it.

What I Plan To Read Next

I just recently got this sent to me from R&R Book Tours and I have until the end of the month to get it read and reviewed so I will most likely start this next. It sound very intriguing and I am told that once I start it I’m not going to want to put it down.

Credit as always to The Book Date. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What have you been reading lately? I hope you all have a great start to your week!!

      1. I think it’s new. I saw it on a display at Barnes and noble and I was intrigued cause I thought it would be a light, fun summer read, which it’s not, but somewhat thought provoking, so even though it’s eh, I might get a good post out if it….

      2. Exactly. The premise is intriguing. The problem is, though she’s doing a good job of telling the story from both perspectives, she’s getting close to valid points, but not quite there. It’s missing something. Now that being said, maybe she’ll pull it all together with a great ending, but right now I don’t know what a great ending would be….and it’s lacking dialogue…there’s some, but so much internal monologue that it feels like we’re listening to the worlds most boring therapy session

      3. Oh wow yeah that doesn’t sound so good. I hope that it will start to pick up and she will pull everything together. I hate reading a book that sounds so intriguing only to be let down because it wasn’t executed very good.

  1. Well done on your reading week – 4 books is impressive! In terms of my reading, I’m currently about 60% of the way through both David Oliver’s The Great Hearts, and Rob J Hayes’ City of Kings. The former is a bit average at the moment but the latter keeps on getting better. Struggling a bit with both as I have started working full time and I’m usually too knackered to read much at the end of the day.

I’m trying to get to a closed and common orbit by Becky Chambers before her next book in the trilogy is out next week, and also considering trying to rush through V.E. Schwab’s Vicious in order to see if I can justify the £70 on the Vengeful book crate thing she’s pushing atm. I also have another few review books to get to but time is not on my side at the moment!
