It’s Monday What Are You Reading?

What I Recently Finished Reading

escaping from houdiniCaleb's Window

I preordered Escaping from Houdini and got it on release day last month but I wasn’t able to fit it in so it was the first book I read this month. Of course I loved it but there were some things that I hated which I talk about in my spoilery review that will be going up tomorrow. After finishing Escaping from Houdini I started Caleb’s Window which I received from the author in exchange for an honest review. My review for this will be going up on Friday but overall I really enjoyed it.

What I'm Currently Reading

The Pirates BootyRebeccaAcademic Curveball

I am still slowly making my way through The Pirate’s Booty. This is another book I was sent by an author for an honest review. While I am enjoying the story the pirate language is hard to read and it’s annoying. Hopefully I will get it finished sometime this month. I started Rebecca yesterday. I am buddy reading this with Merphy Napier on YouTube. She buddy reads her classics with whoever wants to join her and she usually reads 2-3 of them on top of other reading. Our plan is to read 2 chapters a day and talk about it every Wednesday and Saturday. This will take us about 2 weeks to finish so you will be seeing it here for a while. I don’t really have an opinion on it yet because I’ve only read 2 chapters so far which was only 16 pages. I have also started Academic Curveball. A couple months back I talked about beta reading a book for an author, well this was that book. It is being released on the 15th of this month and Jay has sent me a final copy for an honest review but if y’all remember I already know I love it. I am going to read it again so it is fresh in my memory so I can write a review on it. So far I’m 9% through it at the moment.

What I Plan To Read Next

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Illustrated)Emma In The NightThe Cruel Prince

The Spookathon readathon starts on the 15th so I think I will start the readathon off by reading my illustrated edition of Harry potter. Before the readathon starts though I hope to be able to get through at least one of the other 2 books but we will see how long it takes me to get through my other reads.

Credit as always to The Book Date. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What have you been reading lately? What are your reading plans for the week?

  1. I’ve read Rebecca from your list, and of course, Harry Potter..hehe. Rebecca is quite the book for fall, I’d say 🙂 I’m currently reading an audiobook by Cheryl Strayed, The heart’s invisible furies and Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Patchett ( I hope I got the author’s names right )

      2. Honestly I haven’t really flipped through the book that much since I got it. When I first got it I flipped through some and I remembering loving the illustrations but that was over a year ago now probably. Oh ok I hope you end up enjoying both of them.

  2. the pirate language is hard to read and it’s annoying….. Lol. I know what you mean though. I’ve read some books where I know the dialogue is done that ‘different’ way to help with authenticity, but it’s painful sometimes!
