Format: Paperback (ARC)
Pages: 306 pages

My Rating: 5 stars
In the romantic tradition of The Notebook and Nights in Rodanthe, #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks returns with a story about a chance encounter that becomes a touchstone for two vastly different individuals — transcending decades, continents, and the bittersweet workings of fate.
Hope Anderson is at a crossroads. At thirty-six, she’s been dating her boyfriend, an orthopedic surgeon, for six years. With no wedding plans in sight, and her father recently diagnosed with ALS, she decides to use a week at her family’s cottage in Sunset Beach, North Carolina, to ready the house for sale and mull over some difficult decisions about her future.
Tru Walls has never visited North Carolina but is summoned to Sunset Beach by a letter from a man claiming to be his father. A safari guide, born and raised in Zimbabwe, Tru hopes to unravel some of the mysteries surrounding his mother’s early life and recapture memories lost with her death. When the two strangers cross paths, their connection is as electric as it is unfathomable . . . but in the immersive days that follow, their feelings for each other will give way to choices that pit family duty against personal happiness in devastating ways.
Illuminating life’s heartbreaking regrets and enduring hope, EVERY BREATH explores the many facets of love that lay claim to our deepest loyalties — and asks the question, How long can a dream survive?
Several months ago I emailed a publisher requesting an ARC of Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks. I know this isn’t that big of a deal in the book community but it was my first time ever requesting a book directly from the publisher and I never even thought I would get a response. A marketing assistant for Grand Central Publishing emailed me telling me she would be happy to send me a copy and that they would also be happy to offer a hardback copy of the book if I wanted to host a giveaway. Needless to say when I read this email I was literally in tears and shaking because I was so happy and in shock. I know y’all probably think I am crazy for having this kind of reaction but if y’all have been following me from the very beginning of my blog then you know Nicholas Sparks is my all time favorite author so this was a big deal for me and made me a very happy girl. So thank you so much Grand Central publishing for providing me with a copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
Now that I have bored y’all with my fangirling lets get into my review.
When I first found out he was writing another book I looked into what the book was about and then completely forgot about it because I have the worst memory so I pretty much went into this blind. Like I’ve already mentioned Nicholas is my all time favorite author so every time I read one of his books I go into it with high expectations and I have to say that to this day he has never let me down.
If I’m not mistaken this book is fiction but it’s based on a true story. This to me is a classic Nicholas Sparks book. I just love his writing and how he’s able to suck me into the story in just a few pages. He has a way with words that makes you feel everything the characters are feeling. I laughed, I cried, I got angry, I felt sad I pretty much went through every emotion while reading this book.
Aside from the romance theses characters have other real life issues that they are going through and that’s another reason I love his books so much. They are realistic. They deal with things that I can see happening in real life and have happened to me before in some instances. I can always connect in some way with his stories because of this.
I don’t want to spoil anything for y’all and I am afraid if I go on I will inevitably spoil something so I am just going to say if you want to read a book about a love of a lifetime that is happy yet heart breaking at the same time I highly recommend this book.
As mentioned earlier they have offered 1 of my followers a hardback copy of this book and I had to take them up on that offer because again I love Nichols Sparks and I can’t pass up the opportunity to share his book with you.
