I only finished 1 book this week and that was Joyland by Stephen King. This was this months pick for the Stephen King read-a-long over on Instagram. Overall I really enjoyed this book. I actually got teary eyed a few times while reading it which was a surprise. I was a little bit underwhelmed by it but that’s because when I think of Stephen King I think of horror creepy books and this wasn’t that. I will say there was a scene that involved spiders that creeped me out because I HATE spiders. Hopefully I will have a review up within the next week.
I haven’t actually made any progress with Among Us this week. I am still only 12% through it but hopefully I can finish it this week sometime. I’ve been listening to Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy while I do my nails. I’m 75% of the way through it so I don’t have to much left to read. I have to admit though that after I read the first 15 chapters I went ahead and watched the movie. OOPS!! While I haven’t actually started A Christmas Story yet I do plan on starting it today. It’s a pretty short book so hopefully I can get through it pretty quickly.
There are 4 days left until the Short-A-Thon starts. I was hoping to have all of these books read before then but I’m not so sure that’s going to happen. I will most likely pick up The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily after I finish my current reads because I know what that ones about. As for Tidings of Great Joy I picked it up at a library book sale last year and I have no clue what it’s about.
Credit as always to The Book Date. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What did you think of them if you have? What have you been reading lately? What are your reading plans for the week? What Christmas books have you been reading?
Lots of Christmasy books to get in the spirit. I always mean to read A Christmas Story but never do. I am curious to see what you think!

For some reason this year I was just in the mood for al the Christmas books. I’ve never read A Christmas Story but I remember watching the movie when I was a kid although I don’t remember all that much about it and I don’t know if I liked it or not.

I’m putting Joyland on my “do not read because spiders”-list, haha!

Lol I hate spiders. If I read something with spiders in it for the most part I’ve never had any issues with that I just make a face or whatever and then move on but the small little insignificant thing was just ugh.

Oh no, I can’t handle spiders – the end. When I read and watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets I freaked out so bad! And in Hunting Prince Dracula, there’s also an event with spiders that literally had me putting aside the book for a bit.

Yeah we those were 2 books that didn’t really affect me which I find weird. The scene in Joyland is just a small little scene that’s really insignificant but it bothered me more than those two.

Great post!
I haven’t read Dumplin’ yet. I didn’t even realize that the Netflix movie was based on a book. I’ve heard really good things about the book/movie. Hoping to read/watch both in 2019.
I didn’t know of this David Levithan book. Read Every Day earlier this year, so good!
Currently reading To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. So good so far.

Thank you.
I’m probably going to be finishing it today. I hope like both of them.
I have Every Day on my TBR but I haven’t read it yet for some reason. Last year I read the first book in the Duology Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares. It was pretty good so I wanted to read the next one. I might be starting it today.
I read TATBILB earlier this year and I really enjoyed it. I even watched the movie on Netflix. I need to continue this series as well.
