Hello bookworms!!
So Tuesday afternoon my computer all of a sudden stopped connecting to WiFi. We did all of the usual things that we usually do when our internet cuts off but it didn’t work. The WiFi worked on everything else. So after my husband did some research we are thinking that my computer has a WiFi Chip and that chip has gone out on it so that means my computer is pretty much useless to me.
I will be getting a new computer as soon as I can but it might be a couple of months before that happens so until then i am having to use my phone and my android tablet to do everything that I usually do on my computer which really sucks because they both die pretty fast and the tablet takes forever to charge.
WordPress is really difficult to figure out on these devices and I hate using my phone for posts but i don’t have a choice right now. I just wanted to let y’all know that I still plan to post but the formatting might be off for a while and I’m sorry if it is. Please bare with me.
Boo! That is so fun! This happened to me last summer and I ended up having to delete and reinstall my wireless drivers. I haven’t had any problems with it since.

My husband said he thought about doing a factory reset but I would lose everything.

ugh! I don’t want to tell you what I had to do when that started happening to me but let’s just say it cost a lot of money lol

Yeah we don’t have a lot of money to spend so I will most likely end up buying the most basic and cheapest computer i can find.

I asked hubby if a new laptop could be all my gifts for year in one. I think he got off easy lol but it worked out well

That’s good. I don’t want a fancy computer with all the bells and whistles. I just need something basic. I need to be able to get on the internet and that’s pretty much it lol.

It’s good that it’s back up so you can use it. I’m going to have to get a new computer most likely.

Ugh! I feel your pain. That said, I recently created a few posts and books reviews on my phone to post to WP. It was a pain in the rear side to begin with but it did get easier and isn’t as daunting anymore. Sometimes now, if I can’t get to my computer I’m more inclined to just use my phone than wait.

I mean I think I’ve pretty much figured out how to use WordPress on my phone but I can’t be sure that I am formatting it the way I usually do when I use my computer. Like I don’t know if the pictures are the right size and stuff like that.

Yeah. I hear ya. Although trying to get the Centre alignment seems to work better on the phone than with the new WP editor… at least for me 🙈😂

I wasn’t using the new WordPress editor yet. It was still giving me the option to use the old one so that’s what I was doing for as long as I could.

Lol. Lucky. On my side it stopped saving the draft if I used the old editor 😡

Yeah luckily I wasn’t having any trouble being able to use the old editor. I was putting off switching to the new one because I knew I wasn’t going to know what the heck I was doing with that one lol.

That really sucks. I know I need an updated computer soon, but I’m hoping this one can last a bit longer.

Yes it really does especially for someone who literally spend all day on the computer and needs internet for everything she does lol. I hope it last a lot longer for you.

Yeah I have WiFi on everything else it just won’t work on my computer. I am thinking about doing a factory reset to see if that will work.

Sorry to hear this! Happened to me recently too! I hope you manage to get a replacement soon- and that working on your phone/tablet is okay till then (like I said, been there recently!)

My husband actually did a factory reset on it a couple of hours ago and it started working again. I know it’s probably not a permanent fix but at least it’s working right now. Hopefully it will continue to work until I can get a new computer.

Oh I’m so sorry. I hate it when that happens.

It’s actually working now. My husband thought about doing a factory reset on it to see if it would help and it started working again after we did that. It’s probably not permanent but it’s working for now.

Just make sure to back up everything.

The way my husband did the factory reset I didn’t lose anything.

No, I meant from now on. So if it breaks down again you won’t lose anything.

That’s just too bad. But I guess you’re right—all in all, sometimes starting with a brand new one (however costly) is still much cheaper than repairing an ‘old friend’. I hope you have it all sorted out before long. 🍸

Thank you!! My husband did a factory reset on it to see if it would help and it did because it’s working now. It’s probably not a permanent fix but at least it’s working for now.

That’s bad! My laptop is 6 yrs old. It’s battery is not working since last 3 years. I have to keep it plugged whenever I need to use it. I don’t want buy new one as long as it’s at least in working condition. Prices of new laptops horrifies me.

My laptop has had to be plugged up non stop for I don’t even know how long. We have actually got it back to working. We did a factory reset on and the WiFi started working again. I know it’s not a permanent fix but at least it’s working for now. The prices are very expensive for sure!!

Thanks Luna, it was annoying for the two days it was messed up. My husband did a factory reset on it and it fixed it at least for now.

Oh, good. I read that on twitter. I thought it happened again to you. I am hoping that the fix lasts for a while for you. It is a huge headache.
