Rereadathon Wrap Up

Wrap Up

Hello bookworms!!

This past week I participated in the rereadathon. This readathon was created by Merphy Napier on YouTube. If you saw my March TBR post you know that I had four books lined up ready to go that I was excited to read. Unfortunately my reading plans didn’t go the way I planned them so lets take a look at what I actually read.

This is where my plans went awry. I planned to listen to the entire trilogy on audiobook because they were available on Scribd and everyone had hyped up the audiobooks so I wanted to listen to them. I listened to Illuminae and while I wasn’t blown away by the audiobook I still loved the story. I tried to immediately jump in to Gemina but this was the time where Scribd decided to make them unavailable until the 21st which was after the readathon ended so I had to pick something else to read. I know people have been talking about the issues for a while now and I had never had these issues until now. I also know people have unsubscribed from them because if it says unlimited audiobooks then it should be unlimited. I totally understand that. It is very annoying that I couldn’t listen to those when I wanted to but I am not going to unsubscribe. It’s only $8.99 a month and I don’t have to pay for each individual audiobook like you have to with audible. Even with this little flaw of theirs I still think it is well worth it. Sorry I got a little side tracked. Lets talk about the next book I read.

The hunger games

After I found out I wasn’t  going to be able to listen to the entire Illuminae Files trilogy I was kind of in a funk. I didn’t want to read the other book I had planned and nothing else was appealing to me. I eventually decided on listening to the audiobook of The Hunger Games. This is another instance where I still enjoyed the story but I didn’t care for the narration. I think this one has to do with the fact that I have seen the movies and I associate the characters in the book with the characters in the movie and the narrator of the audiobook made them come across completely different then how they were in the movie and in my head. Had I listened to it before I think I would have enjoyed the audiobook more.

six of crows

I was planning on rereading Six of Crows anyway because I’ve been reading all of the Grishaverse books since February. I don’t know why I didn’t think to add this to my TBR to begin with. I started this the day before the readathon ended so I didn’t get to far into it. I only read the first 80 pages but I have continued with it.

All in all I think this readathon went pretty well even though my reading plans were ruined. I read a total of 2 complete books and a total of 1,056 pages which to me is awesome. Did you participate in the rereadathon? What books did you reread? If you didn’t participate what was the last book you reread?
