Monthly Wrap Up

March 2019 Wrap Up

Wrap Up

Hello bookworms!!

March was again a mixture of good and bad but luckily it was more good than anything. First off my husband finally got a job. He’s been in and out of work for years now and these past couple of years have been a struggle for us financially so this has been a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. One day toward the end of the month my husband woke up and I could immediately tell that something was off. He wasn’t acting like himself and after calling his doctor and explaining how he was acting I was told to take him to the ER. We spent like 5 hours in the ER for them to give him some fluids and insulin to get his sugar down for them to then say we needed to go see his doctor to get different meds. His doctor has put him on this insulin mixture injection thing and it seems to be working. It’s not perfect yet but we are getting there. Other than all that I’ve just been reading. I did have a bit of a slow start reading wise this month to the point where I didn’t think I was going to get a lot read but I ended the month with 10 books read so I am really happy with that. Ok enough babbling lets get into the books I read this month.

Books I Read

  1. Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
  2. The Language of the Thorns by Leigh Bardugo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  3. Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  4. In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (reread)
  6. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (reread)
  7. The Gemini Connection by Teri Polen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
  8. Dear Jane by Marina DelVecchio ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
  9. Firestarter by Stephen King ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  10. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As you can see I read a lot of amazing books this month which makes it hard to pick a favorite. Yeah I can’t do it. I’ve been sitting here trying to decide which one was my favorite but I love them all for different reasons.

Watched

The Notebook, Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2 are all movies I have watched numerous times before and loved. Walk, Ride, Rodeo is a new movie that recently came out on Netflix. I thought it was an ok movie. I loved the message and disability rep but the acting wasn’t all that great.

Music

These are a few songs I’ve had on repeat this month. I was excited when the Jonas Brothers announced they were reuniting and released a new song Sucker. NKOTB Boys In The Band video is hilarious and I can’t help but love it. Don’t Call Me Up plays a lot on the Pandora station I listen to and I have become obsessed with it. I don’t really care for the music video of Medicine but I like the song. I’m a huge fan of Pink and pretty much enjoy everything she comes out with and that’s definitely the case with Walk Me Home. When Low Key first came out I didn’t really like it but this month I’ve been obsessed with it. Finally my favorite of the month Change On The Rise by Avi Kaplan. When this popped up in my recommended feed on YouTube I was so excited. If you didn’t know Avi used to be part of Pentatonix and when he left the group I was sad because he was my favorite. I freaking love his voice and I love the beat of this song. If you don’t listen to any of the other songs at least check this one out. Starting next month I am going to be doing a playlist post talking about the music I listen to in the month instead of in these wrap up posts. I got the idea to do a separate playlist from UPONTHEPAGES. I’m trying this mostly because I want to see if it helps with the issues I have every single time I do these wrap up posts and get to the music section.

  1. Ah, I had no idea Avi came out with his own song! Can’t wait to listen to it. I’m glad you’re going to try a whole different post for playlists. They’re fun to make on Spotify 🙂 Hopefully this fixes your problem as well!

    1. Yeah I think he’s come out with some other songs a while back but this one just came out I think. I don’t have Spotify. I usually keep up with what I’m listening to the most in my journal and then just add the videos in a post. Idk if it’s because I have so many links in one post or what but every time I get to the music section WordPress starts giving me issues. I’m hoping that by splitting it up I want have those issues because it’s very annoying to have to deal with lol.

    1. I randomly get the urge to watch old favorites if they are available on Netflix.

Thank you! Yeah it was scary. I kept telling him that he was scaring me. He was acting like he was on drugs and was like zoned out and had slurred speech. Glad I convinced him to go to the ER. Thank you so much!!💕
