Monthly Wrap Up

April 2019 Wrap Up

Wrap Up

Hello bookworms!!

April was a pretty good month. We were finally able to find an Endocrinologist that takes my husbands insurance so we have an appointment in May. We also went riding round through the mountains one day for the first time in years. We used to do this often but it got to the point where we weren’t able to so it was really nice to just get out for a while. That’s pretty much it for this month. I read 12 books in April which is the 2nd highest amount I’ve read in a month so far this year and a total of approximately 4,732 pages. Here are all the books I read this month.

Books I Read

  1. Heir of Doom by Jina S. Bazzar ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  2. The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken (RTC)
  3. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  4. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  5. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (RTC)
  6. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
  7. Rock Addiction by Nalini Singh ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  8. Kissing Tolstoy by Penny Reid ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
  9. Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  10. Carrie by Stephen King (RTC)
  11. Justice for Belle by Didi Oviatt ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  12. Salt by Nayyirah Waheed ⭐️⭐️

A mixed bag rating wise this month. I had some 2 stars and a 5 star which was a reread. I think my favorite read of the month is Rock Addicton by Nalini Singh. I just loved how this book actually had communication between the characters and there wasn’t any unnecessary drama. On the other hand my most disappointing read would have to be The Darkest Legacy. I started writing my review for this book but then I stopped because it was getting long and it was just me ranting about everything that annoyed/frustrated me. I decided to go back to it after a couple of days and so far that hasn’t happened because I just want to be done with this book.

Watched

Jurassic World, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 1&2, and Grace Unplugged are rewatches for me. The Silence is kind of a knock off of A Quiet Place and I wouldn’t really recommend it. I enjoyed A Quiet Place so much more and I wasn’t left with any questions after finishing it and it also evoked a little bit of emotion in me toward the end. Priceless was pretty good. I feel like they could have done so much more with it and made it better but I’m still glad I watched it.

Challenge Stats

  • Goodreads – 43/100
  • Pages Read – 16,540/36,000
  • Alphabet Soup – 14/26
  • Beat the Backlist – 33/25
  • Popsugar – ?
  • Library Love – 13/12
  • Audiobook – 15/20
  • Romanceopoly – 9/39

And that’s a wrap. I am 11 books ahead of schedule with my goodreads challenge and I have reached my goal for the Library Love challenge and the Beat the Backlist challenge already but I will continue to add more to these to see how much I can do. I need to go through the popsugar prompts and see what books I have read will fit. I plan to do challenge update posts hopefully in May. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What did you read in April? Did you watch any good movies/TV shows?
