Hello bookworms!!

Thank you so much to Stephen from Stephen Writes for tagging me. If you aren’t already following his blog you should definitely go and give him a follow. Lets jump into the questions.

You have 20,000 books on your TBR, how do you decide what to read next?

First I will read the books that have to be read like review copies I’ve been sent and then after that I will read whatever I want to read at that moment. Sometimes I am so excited about a book that I will read it before I’ve read the ones I have too.

You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

This depends on how much I’m not loving it. If I am really not into the book at all I will DNF it however, if there is something that is holding my interest enough to make me want to keep reading it then I am committed.

The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge. Do you try to catch up? And if so, how?

I won’t stress over it but I will try my best to catch up. Most likely by reading shorter books/graphic novels.

The covers of a series you love do not match, how do you cope?

Honestly I don’t really care. Of course I would prefer them to match but if they don’t it wouldn’t be a big deal.

Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

Honestly I don’t know for sure. Most of the time I have a one sided conversation with my husband about the books I’m reading. He’s not a reader that’s why it’s one sided. I vent or rant or rave to him and then I’m good. Sometimes people in the book community will comment on one of my reviews saying they agree with what I said and then conversations have sparked from that.

You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?

I usually don’t read in public because I can’t concentrate so I don’t really know what I would do. I would probably put the book down and wait until I got home to finish it if I thought I was about to cry.

The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?

I have reread a book before to refresh my memory but honestly I don’t think I would do this often because I have a really bad memory so I would literally be doing this all the time for every series I read. Plus usually once I start reading the sequel things start coming back to me.

You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?

Ok first off there’s no one in my life that reads so no one ever asks me to borrow a book. I am the type who would most likely let them borrow a book and then I would bug them everyday until they either finally read the book or I’ve annoyed them enough that they give it back.

You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?

Usually when I am in a reading slump it’s because I am wanting to do something more like binge watching something on Netflix. When this happens I binge watch whatever it is to get it out of my system so I can stop obsessing over it and usually once I’ve done that I am good.

There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read. How many do you end up buying?

This depends on my budget. But usually I will only get the ones I am dying to have which is usually only 1 or 2. I also hardly ever buy books when they are first released.

After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read, how long do they sit on your shelf before you read them?

Again this depends. I would say anywhere from a week to several years. I guess it just depends on if I can fit them in my TBR when I am most excited to read them.

Thank you again Stephen for the tag. I have been working on catching up on tags for what seems like forever and because of that I am burnt out on doing them and I am not loving it like I used to so I have decided to take a break from tag posts. I still have several drafted that I plan to post but after those I won’t be doing tag posts for a while. I do plan to get back to doing them at some point but right now I need a break from them.

  1. Great answers Misty. I don’t tend to read in public often, but if I do I stop reading if I think something big is going to happen because I don’t want to be crying and no one knows whats going on. Also, I have the one sided conversations with my BF he doesn’t read novels often, but he is great about letting me gush or rant if I need to.

  2. I love all your answers, Misty! ❤ I love to binge watch Netflix when I'm in a reading slump as well. Hardly anyone in my family and close friend circle is a reader, so my conversations about books are ALWAYS one-sided. I can absolutely relate! I hardly ever buy new releases as well. I usually wait for them to become available at my local library. 🙂
