Hello bookworms!!
Last month I told y’all that we finally found my husband another Endocrinologist. This month we met with a surgeon and we ended up really liking him. He now has a surgery scheduled but I will be talking about that in a future post. So in May I found myself kind of fighting a reading slump which honestly you wouldn’t know by the amount of books I ended up reading. Even though I was struggling with reading it didn’t prevent me from getting a lot books. If you missed my book haul yesterday just click the link to see what I got. I also won several giveaways in May. I talk about 3 of them in my book haul post but there were a few others that I haven’t gotten yet but I will share them hopefully in my June book haul. I read 9 books in May which is less than what I read last month but factoring in the slump I think 9 books is pretty good. Across those 9 books I read a total of 2,293 which again isn’t bad but this is the lowest amount of pages I’ve read so far this year. Here are all the books I read.
Books Read
- Beauty’s Curse by C.S. Johnson – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
- What Took You So Long by Jessica E. Larsen – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Ronaldo: The Phantom Carrot Snatcher by Maxine Sylvester ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Mistaken Identity Crisis by James J. Cudney – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Nimona by Noelle Stevenson – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Through the Woods by Emily Carroll – ⭐️⭐️.5
- Don’t Tell Me To Be Quiet by Christina Hart – ⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Another mixed bag of ratings this month but I did have several 4 & 5 star reviews which makes it hard to pick a favorite because I loved them all for different reasons. If I had to pick a favorite I think I would go with Ronaldo: The Phantom Carrot Snatcher because it was so freaking adorable. My least favorite of the month was Through the Woods. It was like we just got snippets of stories and none of them seemed completed.
Watched
All of these were movies I have watched before several times. My favorite being The Fast and The Furious because of Vin Diesel.
I thought The Last Summer was ok. It was cute but it wasn’t anything new or amazing. I also watched season 14 of Supernatural which was 20 episodes. That ending!! It ended on a cliffhanger but I think it was one of their best endings ever. I am kind of worried about what’s to come in season 15 especially since it’s going to be the last season. Anyone else as sad as I am that season 15 is going to be the end for Supernatural?

And that’s a wrap on yet another month. I can’t believe we are already almost halfway through the year. I’m still sitting at 11 books ahead of schedule with my Goodread challenge and I have surpassed my goals on several other challenges and I am unfortunately behind on the most complex challenge I joined and I have decided to join yet another challenge which I will talk about in a couple days. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What was your favorite read of May? Watched anything good lately?
I had an ok month for reading. Reread Importance of Being Earnest” which I loved, and enjoyed StarCrossed, but it’s predictable, but none the less I enjoyed it

I watched Zombieland too! I’m still undecided on that one, although I didn’t dislike it 🙂

Yeah it’s not a favorite or anything but it’s so stupid that it’s funny.
