Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag

Tag

Hello bookworms!!

I know I said I wasn’t going to be doing any new tags for a while but when I saw Priyasha from Books & Co. unofficially tag all book bloggers to do this tag I knew I had to do it. I mean this is the perfect time to do it so I’m going to do it. After this one though I intend to go back to finishing the ones I have drafted and then actually taking that break from tag posts I’ve been talking about. Anyways if you aren’t following Priyasha you should head over to her blog and give her a follow. She is so kind and I love her blog.

I’m a little over halfway through my Goodreads reading goal for the year and I am really happy with that. At this rate I might end up surpassing my goal of 100 again this year.

1. BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2019?

Wow we are starting off with a hard one. I have read so many amazing books this year so it’s hard to pick but I decided to go with the Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. I had been wanting to read these books for a while but I was never in a hurry to get around to them. Once I finally did I couldn’t stop reding them.

2. BEST SEQUEL OF 2019 SO FAR?

Never Fade

I loved this trilogy. Yes I know there is actually 4 books but I am pretending like that one doesn’t exist which I will talk about later. Anyways this is another series I started this year and have technically finished except for the Novellas which I am reading now. I love the first 3 books but the 2nd book was by far the best in my opinion.

3. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET, BUT WANT TO?

There are several new releases that I haven’t read yet but want to but I narrowed it down to the three I am really excited to read. I have actually already ordered A Curse So Dark and Lonely from Fairyloot but it still hasn’t came and it’s been almost a month.

4. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF THE SECOND HALF OF 2019?

img_5831

I mean this probably doesn’t come as a surprise to some of you. I am total trash for this series and I am so exited to be back in this world with Audrey Rose and Thomas although I am also really sad that it’s going to be the last book.

5. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?

The Darkest Legacy

So before I started this book I saw where a lot of people didn’t like it. I went into it thinking oh I really enjoyed the first 3 books so of course I am going to enjoy this one as well. Boy was I so wrong. There was so much I didn’t like about this book which is why I am choosing to pretend it doesn’t exist.

6. BIGGEST SURPRISE?

What Took You So Long

Before I started this several people were saying it wasn’t what they expected and several people were giving it 3 stars so when I finally picked it up I went in with no expectations. I expected that I would feel the same way but again I was wrong but in a good way this time. I ended up giving this 5 stars. Was it perfect? No, but I rate books based on my enjoyment of them and I was 100% hooked on this story.

7. FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR (DEBUT OR NEW TO YOU) ?

Rock Adiction

I don’t know that I would say this author is a new favorite because I have only read this one book by her but I loved how there was communication between the characters and it makes me want to read more books by her.

8. NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH?

A Court of Thorns and Roses

At first I wasn’t a fan of Tamlin but by the end of the book I loved him.

9. NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTERS?

Ronaldo: The Phantom Carrot Snatcher

Ugh another hard one. I tend to always like at least one character in every book I read so it’s difficult to just choose one. I loved all of the characters in this book. I thought they were all adorable.

10. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY?

second chance summer

This one was easy. There have been a couple of books where I got teary eyed but there has only been one that made me full on cry. The last half of this book was so freaking emotional.

11. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY?

Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin

This book literally had me laughing out loud and I loved the romance.

12. FAVORITE BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION YOU’VE SEEN THIS YEAR?

The Notebook

I haven’t really watched that many book to movie adaptations this year. I did watch The Notebook again which I love. I also watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies again but I’ve never read the books.

13. FAVORITE REVIEW YOU’VE WRITTEN THIS YEAR?

I honestly don’t have a favorite. I personally don’t think I write very good reviews.

14. MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU BOUGHT OR RECEIVED SO FAR THIS YEAR?

A Curse So Dark and Lonely

I’ve already mentioned this book but I had to mention it again. Technically I don’t actually have this in my possession yet but I have bought it. Fairyloot just still hasn’t shipped it. Look at that stunning cover though. I just love it.

15.BOOKS YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR

There are so many but I am going with the remaining books on my Top 9 in 2019 list.

I Tag: I am going to do like Priyasha did and tag all of you bookbloggers. If you’re not a bookblogger but you read books consider yourself tagged as well. Please link back to me because I would love to read your answers.

Have you read any of these books? Have you already done this tag? Do you plan to do this tag? What is your most anticipated release from the second half of the year.

Sadie is one of the books that I have to read as I am currently very much into Thrillers genre .

    1. Thank you so much Priyasha!! I love everything that Nicholas Sparks does and I’ve loved all of the movie adaptations of his books as well.

I’ve been dying to read A Curse So Dark and Lonely but it is taking forever to get to me. I just wish I had it already. Thanks for the unofficial tag. I enjoyed doing this post.

  2. Fun tag, Misty! I read Under Rose-Tainted Skies and I enjoyed it a lot. You’ve just made me want to re-read it! It’s a book that deals with mental health, self-harm. Kind of heavy read, but it’s really a touching story!
