Looking Ahead July 2019

TBR

Hello bookworms!!

We have another eventful month lined up in this household. My husband had his 2nd surgery on the 3rd to remove the rest of his thyroid because they found some spots that were cancerous in the enlarged nodule that they removed the first time so they want to go ahead and get the rest of it. He has had 2 surgeries in 2 weeks time. I am scheduling this weeks posts ahead of time so I don’t have to stress over it while looking after him. Luckily we only have 2 appointments to go to this month. One for surgery and one for post-op and both of those are an hour away. Hopefully after this things will start getting back to normal. Aside from that I also have an exciting announcement coming your way tomorrow. If you follow me on Twitter you probably already know what I am talking about and if you don’t well you will have to wait until tomorrow!! I’m also hoping to do a lot of reading. Last month I slacked on my reading and I really hope that doesn’t happen again this month. I might be once again setting an ambitious TBR but I am going to do my best to get to all of them.

Kendall

I should’ve had this read and reviewed no later than last month but alas life got in the way and I fell behind. As of July 2nd I am 60% through it and I will be finishing it today.

Through the Dark

I started this in June and managed to read 1 of the short stories before I had to return it to the library. I placed it on hold again because I really wanted to finish it. I was finally able to get it and hopefully I can finish it before it’s due back this time.

Touch of Smoke

Another book I probably should’ve read and reviewed last month but again life happened.

Hunting Prince Dracula

Continuing with the #StalkAlong readalong this month with Hunting Prince Dracula. I am looking forward to this reread this month.

Salem's LotThe Colorado Kid

These 2 I am reading as part of the Stephen King readlongs I have been participating in for a while now. Normally we read 1 King book a month but since 1 of them is really short Janel decided to do 2. We will be reading Salem’s Lot over the first 3 weeks and The Colorado Kid the last week of the month. If you would like to join us let me know and I will add you to the discussion on Instagram.

The Help

A couple weeks ago I did my July 2016 Book Haul Revisited post. I asked y’all to tell me which books I should prioritize from the books I still haven’t read and just as I suspected The Help was mentioned the most so I am going to be trying to read this one in July.

Last but not least at the last minute I decided to join a book club on Goodreads called M&B Book Club. The book for July is Red, White & Royal Blue. I’ve been seeing this everywhere lately and I am really excited to read it.

That’s 8 books and I hope to have finished all but 1 of them in the first 3 weeks of the month because I have 2 readathons planned at the end of the month and both of them have separate TBRs to what I have shared today. What books are you planning on reading in July?

    1. Everything’s going pretty good. He’s in more pain this time around but hopefully that will die down soon. You could have pinged me I wouldn’t have minded at all.
Thank you Shalini I am excited about it!! 😘

    1. Thank you he’s on the mend. We’re not finished yet. He has a post op appointment on the 11th and we will be getting the pathology report and figuring out what our next steps will be.
