Hello bookworms!!
Tropeathon is back with round 2!! Michelle (Chelle’s Book Ramblings) and I had so much fun with the first round back in July we have decided to make this permanent. Our plans are to do this readathon every 3 months from here on out.
This round is going to be from October 21st through the 27th. We have 8 prompts but don’t worry you don’t have to read 8 different books. You are more than welcome to double up on prompts and do as many or as little as you want. You can read any format whether that is audiobooks, ebooks or physical books and graphic novels, short stories, etc. counts as well. You can also read from any genre so long as one of the tropes/prompts appear in whatever you are reading. Ok now onto each of the prompts as well as any recommendations I might have for them. If you click on the link to Michelle’s blog you will find more recommendations for each prompt.
Creepy Atmosphere
Any book with an air of mystery, spookiness, evil feel in its surroundings… It can be a Thriller, a Horror, or even a Dark Romance…
My suggestions are:
- The Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco
- Corrupt by Penelope Douglas
Night Time Reading
Just pick any of the books on your TBR and read it only at night through the week..
Missing Person
Pick a book where a character (any character) goes missing or suddenly disappears… Once again it could be a thriller, a horror, or even a romantic suspense.. you chose.
My Suggestions:
I don’t have and suggestions for this one so if you have any recommendations for me that would be great.
Initials In The Title
Just pick a book with your initials anywhere in the Title…
Second Chance
Pick a second chance romance or just a second chance at life story in case romance isn’t your cup of tea..
My Suggestions:
- The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
- Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
Fated Mates
This is a common trope in Paranormal romances … that couple who is destined to be together… made for each other kind of thing.
My Suggestions:
- The A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas
Halloween Colors (Purple, Orange and Green)
Just pick a book with one or if you want to go crazy all three of the colors that represent Halloween on the cover..
Magically Inclined
Just pick a Book that has magic in it… any kind of magic works
My Suggestions:
- The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
I think that’s all I have to share today. I don’t think I have forgotten anything. We still have the twitter account Tropeathon as well as our personal accounts mistymichelle30 & cbookrambling If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask and I hope y’all will join us for the second round of Tropeathon. I will share my TBR probably a week or so before this starts.
For the missing person prompt you could read Gone Girl or The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (but that last one is intense and both can be triggering if violence does that to you) good luck!

Thank you!! I might finally do it. I need to figure out my TBR for the rest of the prompts. I don’t want to have a bunch of big books to try to get through in a week but we will see.

That definitely makes sense, but I’m sure you can do it! Good luck and happy reading!

I’ve been meaning to read Anne of Green Gables forever. You mention great books there – though I have yet to read the HP series.

Anne of Green Gables is probably my favorite classic that I have read. I kind of want to reread it and continue on with the series. Harry Potter is a good one as well.
