Hello bookworms!!
This week was a pretty good reading week. I am trying to get through as many books as possible because I found out I am going to be having another surgery in a couple weeks and that’s going to take away from my reading time because the pain meds knock me out. Anyways I will be talking all about that in a post later on so lets get to what I’ve been reading.
~ Recently Finished ~
I finished 3 books this week. The first one I was on the blog tour for and you can read an excerpt and my review here. Next I read Subject A36 which I am also on the blog tour for but that post is coming next week. Spoiler alert I freaking loved it. Last up I finished The Waste Lands. I will be writing a review for this one whenever I can figure out what to write about it. I did enjoy it though.
~ Currently Reading ~
I am still slowly making progress in this book. While I technically haven’t read anymore of this as of yet I will be reading the next six chapters tonight which will get me through chapter 19 and will put me 15% through the book.
~ Reading Next ~
I don’t know which one I will pick up first but these are the next three contenders. I want to get some reading done for romanceopoly which will be Cress and I want to read the next Nicholas Sparks book on my list of unread books by him. Lastly I want to read Februarys book in the In Death readalong which is Glory in Death. Maybe I will start all of them who knows lol.
What did you recently finish reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next?
I’m reading American Dirt (though I’ve purposely not followed the hype, so I don’t know what people are complaining about) The tea rose (very long and saga like, which are eh to me) and The Scent Keeper which has great moments and average moments

I’ve heard of the first one but I haven’t read any of them.

American Dirt is for barnes and noble book club, tea rose is for my tea book club, and the other is Reese Witherspoon book club. I’d never have chosen any on my own, but they’re all interesting in different ways. The only thing is I can’t read more than two chapters of any at the same time, so I alternate back and forth

I’m on the fence as to whether I should give the Dark Tower series a try after struggling with book 1

Honestly I don’t know what to tell you at this point. After you get through book 1 things definitely pick up. We just finished reading book 3 and there’s 4 to go. I’m enjoying it and I want to find out what the point of everything is but at the same time at this point I feel like things are starting to be dragged out but I’m going to continue.

I’ve heard much the same opinion from a friend of mine. He just said ‘it’s King. I expected he’d try to tell 4 books worth of story in twice the pages needed.’ 😂

Yeah you get some backstory but we are also getting progress and action with the plot. I’m going to have to finish the series to find out if it’s actually worth it lol.

But then again that could just be because I’m very impatient and want to know everything ASAP lol.

Yesterday, I finished Dan Brown’s Origin and today, I’m going to start The Goldfinch. Have you read either?

I haven’t read either of those but I’ve heard of both of them. I actually haven’t read anything by either of those author. I do own one of Donna Tartts books but I can’t remember which one it is because I put it in storage to make room for books on my shelf.

This is my first DT book but I have read all of Dan Brown’s (at least I think so). The Da Vinci Code is definitely my favorite.

I’m pretty sure this is the last one I own so I need to get the rest so I can finish this series off.

Little Women seems to be everywhere right now. Am thinking of listening to the latest audiobook rendition with a full cast. Read it years ago but didn’t remember anything about it. Has it been good so far? Hope you enjoy. 😀

I’ve been enjoying it so far. This is actually my first time ever reading it and I’m loving it. I plan to continue on with the rest of the books once I finish this one.
