The Waste Lands by Stephen King #KeeperofKing

The Waste Lands

Title: The Waste Lands

Author: Stephen King

Series: The Dark Tower #3

Pages: 422 pages

Format: Paperback/Audio

Source: Library/Scribd

My Rating: 3.5 stars

Roland, the Last Gunslinger, moves ever closer to the Dark Tower of his dreams and nightmares- as he crosses a desert of damnation in a macabre world that is a twisted mirror of our very own. With him are those he has drawn to this world, street-smart Eddie Dean and courageous wheelchair-bound Susannah. Ahead of him are mind-rending revelations about who he is and what is driving him.

My Thoughts

I feel like I have less and less to say the further I get into this series and that’s definitely the case for this one so this is going to be a pretty short review.

I am still enjoying this series and defintely want to findd out what the point in all of this is. Like I want to know the end game. But at the same time I feel like it’s starting to drag.

I feel like things are definitely progressing and we get action as well as backstory for the characters and I am loving all of the main characters but I don’t know if it’s just me and my tendency to be impatient but I feel like 7 books is too much.

I think I am going to have to read the entire series to know if I feel like it’s worth it or not. Yes I will be reading the entire series because I am reading it with several people on Instagram.

  1. I didn’t realize there were seven books in the series. I read the first one when it was released, but never continued with the series, but that was before I became a real fantasy fan. Hope it picks up for you, Misty!

    1. I reading it with a group of people on Instagram and while we’ve had differing opinions on aspects we’re enjoying and not enjoying we have pretty much all been in sync with our ratings of them. Some people gave 4 stars to this one and then there was 3 and 3.5.

      1. One of the books I want to read is an audiobook so I can get through it faster and Wizard and glass is an audiobook as well but the other two books I have to physically read and I’m not the fastest reader. I just made it to the halfway point of the book that’s 550 pages so I’m making some progress.
