This past weekend I participated in #dayathon which is hosted by Lili and Noriko. I was so excited for this readathon and I am so happy I decided to participate in it because it was the kick in the butt I needed to start reading again after my surgery. Today I am going to share my reading progress during this readathon.
Books I planned to read from:
My actual reading progress:
So to start this readathon out I decided to go ahead and knock out this weeks chapters for my buddy read of Little Women because it was only 7 chapters so I figured at least then I will have accomplished at least one thing I set out to do. I read this from 8pm to 9:26pm.
I then started on The Wrongful Death which was my main priority for this readathon because I was supposed to post my review for this on Friday the 28th but with my surgery and everything I fell behind. Anyways I was already at the 25% mark when picking this up for this readathon. I read this from 9:37pm to 11:18pm. I then took a 10 minute break to do everything I needed to do before hunkering down for the night because I didn’t want to be getting up and waking everyone up because at this point everyone but me was in bed. I then started reading again at 11:28pm and read to 1:18am. I was tired at this point so I decided to call it a night. I had made it to the 79% mark.
I guess because I knew I didn’t have much left in The Wrongful Death I decided to wait until 5:56pm on Saturday to start reading again and I completed the book at 7:11pm which left me with 49 minutes in the readathon but instead of picking up one of my other books I decided to just put this post together.
So I didn’t read for the full 24 hours which I never do and for me that’s not the purpose. The purpose is to just read for more than you normally would and while technically I didn’t read more than usual I did stay up way later than usual to read. I didn’t complete Little Women but I did read what I set out to read and I also finished The Wrongful Death so 2 out of the 4 is amazing considering my only goal was to finish The Wrongful Death so I would call this a definite success.
Thanks to Lili and Noriko for hosting this and I hope they will do it again next month. I’m going to go ahead and mark it on my calendar so I don’t forget.
