This Week In Books

My Week In Books 8/10 – 8/16

Hello bookworms!!

This week has been a pretty good reading week for me. I managed to finish 4 books this week which I am really happy about. Lets just jump right into it shall we.

~ Recently Finished ~

I actually finished P.S. I Like You by Kasie West last Sunday but it was late Sunday night. I had picked it up only planning to read half of it and then move on to another book but once I started it I couldn’t stop reading so I ended up finishing it in one sitting. Next up Erin and I finished up our buddy read of Anne of the Island. I’m still enjoying the series but this one started to annoy me when it came to the romance. I finally finished Heir of Lies. I feel like it took me forever to read this book. I’ve been in the mood for cutesy romances and that was definitely not this book and because of that I was getting through it very slow. I did end up enjoying this one but there were several things that bothered me personally while reading it and I will talk about that in my review. Lastly I decided t stay up last night to get some more reading in. I tend to read mostly at night and late at night every now and then. I knew Rainbow was a short book and I could get through it pretty quickly and I did. I flew through it and overall I enjoyed it as well. Keep an eye out for my review coming this week.

~ Currently Reading ~

As I mentioned last week we are reading 1 part a week of Christine since it is broken up into 3 parts. I’ve read 536/721 pages which is about 75% of the book. I will be finishing the last part this week. I would say I’m liking it but not loving it at this point. Lastly I started The Darkest Part of the Forest which is a buddy read I am doing with Jonny. I’m only 57 pages into it so I don’t have much of an opinion on it yet. Not a whole lot is really happening at this point. Jonny is ahead of me and when I talked to him yesterday he said he wasn’t sure if he was going to be finishing it or not. I have to check with him today and see what he decided.

~ Reading Next ~

I need to get Nutmeg Street read and reviewed before the end of the month so I will most likely be starting it next. I also want to get the rest of the books from my August Bookshelf Challenge read. So far I’ve only read 1 of the 3 books from that TBR so those will be the next priority. I think after Nutmeg Street I don’t have anymore review commitments for the month (I should double check to make sure) so I can hopefully get in a little mood reading before the end of the month as well.

What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? How was your week in reading?

    1. Thank you. I’m still only 57 pages into it but as of right now I still plan to continue on with it. I think I might end up liking it. My buddy read partner decided it wasn’t for him so I’m reading it on my own now which is fine. We will still talk about it once I finish it.

  1. There was something about Christine that always made me tempted to read it but never actually pulled at me hard enough to pick it up.

To be fair, the same could be said for Insomnia and I loved that. So I should certainly get around to his older stuff

  2. Kasie West is certainly one to turn to when you’re looking for cutesy romance. Glad you enjoyed P.S. I Like You. I enjoyed that one, too, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve read it.
