Hello bookworms!!
Every year I share my most disappointing books of the year and my favorite books of the year. I thought I would start with the most disappointing that way we could end on a high note. I feel like over the years I have gotten better at picking books that I know I will enjoy. That being said every year there are books that I think I am going to like that end up being disappointments. I give a 1 star rating to books I DNF and unfortunately this year I did have 1 book I DNFed. I also gave out seven 2 star ratings. I give 2 stars to books that I didn’t like at all for various different reasons. Instead of talking about each book I am going to leave a link to my review for each of the books if you want to know my full thoughts on any of them.
The Adventure’s of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain (DNF)
A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh
The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
Roadwork by Richard Bachman
Please Don’t Tell My Parents I’m a Supervillain by Richard Roberts
Slated by Alexis Sands
Wizard & Glass by Stephen King
Alpha’s Revenge by Catherine Stine
And that’s all for today. Out of the 7 books I gave 2-2.5 star ratings to the ones that I found to be most disappointing are The Jungle Book and Wizard and Glass. I watched The Jungle Book movie way before I ever even knew it was a book. I loved the movie and I went into the book expecting it to be similar to the movie and I didn’t get anything like I expected. As for Wizard & Glass this whole series is kind of shaping up to be one big disappointment. I have liked some of the books but going into this series I had very high expectations because everybody loves this series and honestly I don’t understand the hype for this series. Wizard & Glass got the lowest rating from me out of all of them so far. What were your most disappointing reads in 2020?
Funny how some of those old classics that were made into movies don’t measure up to expectations.

Classics tend to be hit or miss for me so I usually don’t go into them with any expectation but I did with the Jungle Book and it just didn’t work for me at all.

I seem to have gotten WORSE at picking books I might enjoy, most of my anticipated reads this year were disappointing 😭 I ended up DNFing 12 books too.

Oh no!! Since I’ve started blogging I’ve gotten pretty good at picking books I will enjoy but there are always some that sneak through that I don’t end up liking. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year. I very rarely DNF a book. I have to really be hating it to put it down because once I start a book I want to finish it no matter what.

I don’t think I’ve ever read The Jungle Book even though I know the story of course, haha. Sorry that these ones didn’t work for you!

Thank you it’s bound to happen. We can’t love everything we read.
