January TBR

TBR

Hello bookworms!!

In 2020 I decided not to do TBR posts and while I did enjoy that to an extent I also felt like I slacked a little with my reading so I have decided to bring back the TBR posts for 2021. I know we are already 10 days into the month but I like to post all of my end of year posts and end of the month posts before I move on to the new year posts so sorry this is a little late. I have a lot I am hoping to read this month so lets get to the TBR shall we.

Anne of Ingleside – Erin and I are going to be continuing our buddy read of the Anne of Green Gables series. We are now up to book six and I have already started reading this one. I can’t remember exactly when we started this ongoing buddy read series but I think it was at the end of 2019 so we’ve been buddy reading books with each other for over a year now and I am loving it.

The Dead Zone – I participate in the #KeeperofKing group on Instagram and we read 1 King book a month and this months read is The Dead Zone. I have also already started reading this one.

Royally Screwed – Nicole from Who Picked This Book? over on YouTube posted an announcement video a couple weeks ago announcing that her and Daijah were going to be starting a romance genre book club called The Swoon Sisters. You can find The Swoon Sisters on Instagram and Twitter if you are interested in joining. Any excuse to get me reading more romance I am all for so I am looking forward to hopefully participating in this book club every month. They also plan to do monthly live shows on the books that we read.

In August I started doing a bookshelf challenge where I pick 3 books from my shelf blah blah blah. Anyways I quickly realized that I didn’t want to count all of my books over and over again so that was a fail. Instead I have made a list of every unread book on my bookshelf as of the end of 2020 which came out to 162 books and that’s not including ebooks. There will be some months where I do a random number generator to pick the books and some months I will send my list to someone who has agreed to pick the books for me.

A Quick Bite – Luna from Bookish Luna picked this book from my list. She said it was a great series when she read it and I like me some vampire books so I am looking forward to reading this one.

When Dimple Met Rishi – Luna also picked this one for me and she said she read it in a day. I’ve been meaning to read this one for forever so again looking forward to finally reading it.

A Map for Wrecked Girls – This one I just had my husband pick a random number and this is the book that was chosen. I was initially drawn to this book because of the cover but I did read the synopsis before buying it and I thought is sounded like something I would enjoy. This is another one that I am currently reading.

Baby Doll – I am determined to clear out my NetGalley shelf this year. I have 11 books on there and they are every single one overdue. This is another challenge where I will just be doing a random number generator to pick what I read each month.

Borrowed Dreams – I am participating in the Buzzwordathon that Kayla from BooksandLala originally created. This year she is doing it differently and she’s already picked the words for the whole year and we basically do it at our own pace each month. It is said to be the first week of the month but I am counting it as a month long readathon because I only plan to read one book for each month.

Once Upon A Dream – I’m not sure which one of these books I will actually end up reading for the month but they were the only two books on my TBR with the word DREAM. I’m leaning more toward reading this book but can someone please tell me if this series needs to be read in a specific order or does it not really matter?

That’s all of my reading plans for the month of January. Are we reading any of the same books? What do you plan to read this month?

  1. The Twisted Tales books do not need to be read in order as they stand alone as part of a greater series, kind of like the Magic Treehouse books. I have found with two of the Twisted Tale books that I’ve read they tend to be more novelizations of the movies.
