Mini Reviews: Always And Forever, Lara Jean, Later & And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer And Longer

Always and Forever, Lara jean

Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han

SLIGHT SPOILERS!! I have finally finished this series. I enjoyed every book but I think the first one and the last one were my favorites. This book added a level of maturity to the series. In the first book its fake dating and trying to make others jealous. The second book still has the jealousy aspect as well as a love triangle and other things that could have been avoided had the characters just talked. This last book tackles college and long distant relationships and everything that comes with all of that. I loved how in the book Lara Jean immediately tells Peter when she got rejected and how she changes her mind about where she wants to go. I felt that showed how much they have matured because they talked to each other about things. Yes there’s still some drama of course there has to be but it was so good.

Later by Stephen King

****.5  (4.5 stars)

This was this months King book for the #KeeperofKing reading group I participate in. It’s also his newest release and I really enjoyed it. King tends to mostly be middle of the road reads for me or misses but there are some that I have read that have been hits and this is one of those. This is one of his shorter books and I have come to realize that I tend to enjoy his shorter books more. I think that has to do with the fact that King can be overly descriptive. In my opinion in his shorter books he never really goes overboard with the descriptions or unnecessary information. I will say that there was a little reveal at the end of this book that I thought was totally unnecessary and I think it was added to have that shock value moment and I have to say I was shocked by it because I totally wasn’t expecting it although it is typical King so I should have expected it. I really enjoyed this book but there was something lacking that kept me from giving it 5 stars and I can’t say what that something is. I just know that when I really love a book I usually get this kind of anxious feeling and I didn’t get that with this book but I still enjoyed the ride.

And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer

And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer by Fredrik Backman

***** (5 stars)

I hadn’t planned on reading this book this month but I was wanting a quick audiobook to listen to one night and this one fit the bill. I went in not really knowing anything besides the fact that so many people rave about this authors books and his writing and I can totally see why. This book is about a man who has dementia. The story is about the mans life/memories and it’s told through his dementia. I admit I was a little confused at first but then I realized what was going on and it made complete sense and it was a unique way to write the story. There is just something so beautiful about this authors writing. This is only my first book by this author but I will definitely be reading more.
