Hello bookworms!!
This week seemed to drag to me. I was able to have lunch with a friend of mine which was nice since we haven’t been able to get together as much as we used to before covid I also went to her house and helped her make a cup and by help I mean she did pretty much everything because I was scared I would mess it up. I’ve been reading but I feel like I have slowed down a little bit. Today I have an appointment with my cardiologist. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this on my blog or not but I’ve been having heart palpitations for a while now. I had some tests done and the doctor told me my heart was working fine. My primary doctor told me I needed to get in to see my cardiologist again because there have been a couple instances this past week where I woke up in the middle of the night because I couldn’t breath. I have a feeling it’s going to be one of those instances where they tell me everything is fine and it’s just going to be something I have to deal with. Anyways lets get to what this post is actually about.
~ Recently Finished ~
I only finished 2 books this week and I loved both of them. The first one I finished was Marriage Most Scandalous by Johanna Lindsey. I didn’t know anything about this book going into it and I am glad I ended up really enjoying it. The other book I finished was Dear Martin by Nic Stone. This was infuriating. Not because the book is bad because it’s not. What was infuriating to me was the things that happened in this book and how realistic it is. This book definitely needs to be read by everybody.
~ Currently Reading ~
I’m currently in the middle of 2 books. The first one being RoseBlood by A.G. Howard which I didn’t actually read any of this week. I’m still only 76 pages into it. I’m also halfway through The Chase by Elle Kennedy and I think I’m liking it but also it is getting on my nerves because it has the no communication trope that gets on my nerves.
~Reading Next ~
Honestly my goal is to just finish the two books I am currently in the middle of before the end of the month. As Old As Time is the only book left on my March TBR but I really don’t think I will be getting to it this month.
Misty, I have the same issues with the palpitations and waking up at night. For me it’s thyroid though. I chalk it up to anxiety now. Tests always norm.
Happy reading this week! ❤️

All of my tests and blood work have came back normal including my thyroid. The reason she told me to get in to see him again is because it’s never woken me up in the middle of the night before. It’s only happened twice now since last Tuesday.
Thank you and happy reading to you as well.

Aw, well I hope you get some answers. To me it’s one of the worst ailments. Very uncomfortable. Take care, Misty.

Thank you!! Yes I agree it’s uncomfortable feeling like you can’t breath. Here now so hopefully I will find out something.

Oh, I meant to say As Old As Time sounds awesome. Retellings are favorites and I’ve had my eye on that series for some time. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it. 😉

This is one of the books in this series that I was most excited to read because I love beauty and the beast. I will most likely be moving it to my April TBR so I can focus on the 2 books I’ve already started.

Me too! I almost just bought the whole set because my oldest daughter is reading YA. Just not convinced yet. I’ll watch for your review. Enjoy your books. 😉

I’ve read one of them so far and I thought it was ok. It was Once Upon a Dream. Thank you!!

Praying for you, Misty! One of my best friends has heart palpitations that cause her to struggle to breathe at times. She’s on medication for it, so maybe they can find something to help. I have something similar, but I’ve been able to control it with diet and exercise. I’ve seen a couple bloggers raving about Dear Martin this week.

I am on a heart medicine but it hasn’t made a difference. I just left the doctors and basically it was what I figured it would be. They said everything was normal and it’s going to be something that just happens. Going to do blood work now just to make sure my potassium and magnesium is good.

Sorry! I know how frustrating that can be!! I hope you can find something that’ll help!

I’m going to be working on losing weight so hopefully that will help and I really enjoyed Dear Martin.

I hope it’ll help you!! Diet and exercise didn’t completely stop my palpitations, but it did stop them from being bad enough that I would feel like I couldn’t breathe for a few seconds.

That’s good to know. Hopefully it will work the same for me.

I hope whatever is causing your palpitations can be sorted out for you. I can imagine it would be scary. The only one of these I have read is Dear Martin and I totally agree with your thoughts.

So far there’s not going to be anything done. She said today that it happens. I will be going back in may to see the actual doctor.

Misty, I didn’t know you had some instances with heart palpitations, I truly hope everything will be fine!
Instances like these (in my case my rheumatoid flare-ups) really put me down in the dumps. But oh well, life goes on, doesn’t it? And I’ll have to deal with it. Take care, Misty and you’ve been doing a great job with reading compared to me 😅

Yeah it’s been going on for a while now but I only just recently (the end of last year to be exact) saw a heart doctor for them. Apparently my heart is fine and a lot people deal with what I’m dealing with. I’m doing what I can to help it so hopefully I will eventually get to the point where it doesn’t bother me as much. The only real issue I have is that when it happens which is several times all throughout the day everyday I feel like I can’t breath. Thank you!! Hey any reading is good reading and if you need a break from reading that’s good too!! 😊
