Locke & Key vol. 3: Crown of Shadows by Joe Hill
**** (4 stars)
I am glad that the action is back in this one. I once again had that edge of my seat feeling which I loved. We also get some family drama as well as more keys. I do feel like at this point the Locke kids should be making a plan to defeat Dodge instead of just taking the attacks as they come but overall I am still enjoying it.
Locke & Key vol. 4: Keys to the Kingdom by Joe Hill
****.5 (4.5 stars)
The action is still present in this one as well. We also get some action without dialogue which I actually enjoyed. I feel like if the dialogue was included in those parts it would have been to much and it would have made the book drag for me. There are some things that happened in this one that made me feel like I missed something in the previous book but I didn’t it was just a big jump from what happened between book 3 and this one. I feel like there should have been more dialogue in those instances. The graphics in this one are a lot more gory which I personally don’t mind. Also there is a little humor thrown in which I really enjoyed as well.
Journey to Territory U by L.J. Epps
**** (4 stars)
I have finished out The Extinction of All Children trilogy and overall I enjoyed it. In this one it did feel like a lot of the same things were happening which was kind of annoying because at this point I feel like they should have learned by now that President Esther is a horrible person who can’t be trusted. There was a reveal in this book that I totally saw coming but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book. I was left satisfied when I finished this but also unsatisfied because the ending felt really rushed and I would have liked more. I think if you enjoyed The Hunger Games you will enjoy this one too but be warned that this does have some things involving babies and kids that could be triggering.
