Hello bookworms!!
So we have found out when my mother in law starts her treatments. She starts chemo on June 2nd. She has to do that once a week for 3 months and after she finishes that she will do radiation 5 times a week for a month. So far she’s doing really good but I think she’s a little stressed and worried but honestly who wouldn’t be? Just please keep her in you thoughts and prayers or just send good vibes her way. As for my reading this week, I had an amazing week. It’s my best week so far this month and only the second time this year that I have read this much in a week. I finished 5 books this week guys. Yes 2 of them were really short but still I finished 5 books!! I’ll stop blabbing now and actually share the books with y’all.
~ Recently Finished ~
The first 2 books I finished were part of a trilogy that I randomly started this month and they were also the 2 really short books. I have reviewed the entire series and you can read my review here if you want to know more of my thoughts on it. I finished The Everlasting Rose by Dhonielle Clayton which I was buddy reading with Erin. I did end up liking this one but also still had some issues with it like I did with the first book. Also I am still not 100% sure if this is just a duology or if there is going to be another book. If you know please tell me. I then finished Lisey’s Story by Stephen King and all I will say right now is that this is my favorite King book I have read so far. Lastly I finished The Love Scam by MaryJanice Davidson which I wasn’t expecting to finish until today or tomorrow but I ended up spending a lot of my Sunday reading. I will hopefully have my reviews up for the last 3 books soon.
~ Currently Reading ~
Because I was reading everything else I didn’t manage to read either of these books so I still haven’t made anymore progress which is why Jukebox Hero is still on here. I want to pick it up one more time before I decide to DNF it.
~ Reading Next ~
Honestly there are 6 books left on my May TBR but there’s only a week left in the month so I hope to finish Tow by Two and then at least start Managed which is a book I am reading for The Swoon Sisters Book Club. The live show discussion is going to be on June 7th so I still have time to read it.
Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What are you currently reading? What have you recently finished? What do you plan to read next?
Sending positive thoughts for your MIL, Misty. Hope everything goes well.

Radiation 5 times a week for a month sounds awful. Sending up prayers for peace, strength, healing, and endurance!

Thank you so much Ali. Yeah it does sound awful especially since it’s probably an hour drive there and back. They told her it would only make her tired so that’s what we are hoping for.

That would be awesome if that’s the only side effects she has! Praying that’s the case for her! I would look into normal side effects of radiation, though, just to be prepared if she suffers from any of the usual symptoms – especially burns, so y’all will know how to react if it arises. I have told me father-in-law all along that we’ll hope and pray for the best and prepare for the worst so we’re never caught off guard.

Oh yeah they already been reeling her stuff to get to help with burns that could happen. She had to get clear aloe Vera gel and they were very specific that it had to be clear. The chemo is the one that will probably make her sick which is the one she has to do first. I’m so glad she only has to do it once a week and it’s a low dosage. I’m definitely going to be looking into what to expect because I am a total worrier especially when I have to do something by myself.
