Hello bookworms!!
This months reading didn’t go as planned. Out of the 12 books I had on my TBR for May I read 5 of them and DNFed 1. I have started on another one but it doesn’t count because I wasn’t able to finish it in time. I still ended up reading 9 books in May I just did a little bit of mood reading instead of sticking to my TBR which is totally fine. Me and my husband both got our first COVID vaccine this month. His arm was sore for a few hours and mine freaking hurt for over a day. I couldn’t move my arm without it hurting. I am very sensitive to meds so I am expecting to have side effects for sure. We get our second dose mid June and then we will be set hopefully. There’s not much else to update on so lets jump to the books.
We are going to start with the book I DNFed this month. I read 117 pages before finally deciding to permanently DNF Jukebox Hero by Jason Stuart. If you want to know why I DNFed this book you can find out here. I feel bad because this book was sent to me by the author via R&R Book Tours but I couldn’t keep forcing it. The rest of the books are listed in the order I read them.
What Child Is This by Rhys Bowen ****
Hometown Girl by Courtney Walsh ***
The Babysitter by Jack Harbon ****
The Brother by Jack Harbon ****
The Intern by Jack Harbon ****
The Everlasting Rose by Dhonielle Clayton ****
Lisey’s Story by Stephen King *****
The Love Scam by MaryJanice Davidson ****
Managed by Kristen Callihan *****
STATS:
- Number of books read in May – 9
- Number of books read this year – 57
- Number of pages read in May – 2,204
- Number of pages read this year – 17,894
Despite not sticking to my TBR for the month I am still really happy with what I managed to read. And I pretty much enjoyed everything I read. I also can’t believe I read another King book that I absolutely loved. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? Did we read any of the same books?
I read Callihan’s Idol a while back but never moved on to Managed. It’s still sitting on the TBR. So glad to see you really enjoyed it!!

Now that you say that I vaguely remember seeing it in one of your posts. Did you enjoy Idol? I definitely want to read the whole series I just hope they are all as good as the second book was.

It’s been a while, so I don’t remember it all that well. I can remember the start of it, but that’s about it. I gave it 4 stars at the time.

That’s a great reading month, I read that many too which is more than I normally read! I was out for 2 days with my 1st covid vaccine, was so ill!!! We have to wait 12 weeks between ours so my next is in 2 weeks and I’m not looking forward to it!

Thank you!! That’s awesome!! I love when I’m able to read more than I usually would. Oh we had our first COVID vaccine and all we had with that one is a sore arm. We get our 2nd one mid June and I am fully expecting to get sick with that one so I’m not looking forward to it either.

I never get ill with the flu one so I was hoping this would be the same but unforts it wasn’t!!!

I’ve only ever gotten the flue shot once and it didn’t affect me at all. I’m sensitive to meds in general so that why I fully expect to get sick when I get the 2nd shot.
