This Week In Books

My Week In Books 6/7 – 6/13

Hello bookworms!!

This week has been pretty good overall. My mother in law had her 2nd chemo treatment and she is still doing pretty well. I took her to her cardiologist appointment on Thursday and managed not to scare her to bad. She’s pretty skittish when it comes to driving. I also managed to finish 6 books this week. I was hoping to finish 7 but reading wasn’t in the cards for me on Sunday because I woke up sick and didn’t do much of anything beside sleep and watch YouTube. Six book is still good though even though 4 of them were really short quick reads. Here is what my reading looked like this past week.

~ Recently Finished ~

The first book I finished this week was my reread of Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. I was also buddy reading this with Erin. I enjoyed my reread of this and I will be sharing my original review of it tomorrow as well as some thoughts I had this time around. I then read the first 3 volumes of Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lemire. I decided to finally read this series since there’s an adaptation on Netflix now. I’m liking this but I’m not blown away by it. I am waiting for my hold on the last 3 to become available at the library so I can finish out this series and watch the adaptation. My thoughts for these will be going up tomorrow as well. I then finished The Wrong Kind of Love by Lexi Ryan which I ended up really liking but I did have some issues with it. Lastly a book I wasn’t planning to read anytime soon but I was in need of a new ebook and I wanted something short and easy so I went with The Dog Days of Summer: Flash Fiction which is by multiple authors. For what it is it was good but I prefer full stories.

~ Currently Reading ~

I am still in the middle of these 4 books. I didn’t make anymore progress in Two by Two because I was focusing on other things. I’m still only 151 pages into this one. I did manage to read a little more of The Passage by Justin Cronin. I am now 263 pages into it and I am enjoying it way more than I thought I would. I didn’t read anymore of The Dark Half because I got a head start on it. Our discussion for the first part was yesterday so I am now free to start reading this one again. I’m 265 pages into this one and so far so good. Lastly I did start The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society but I only managed to read 14 pages before focusing on everything else I read.

~ Reading Next ~

These are the last five books on my June TBR that I haven’t started reading yet so I will for sure be picking up one of them next I’m just not sure which one I will end up going with.

What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?

      1. It was on a couple years ago, but I can’t remember if it was for a half or whole season before it was canceled. You might be able to find it on a streaming platform.

  1. I am sorry you felt poorly last Sunday. YouTube is our best friend when we don’t feel up for reading, isn’t it?
You seem to be managing your current reads well; I am especially glad you are enjoying The Passage! I cannot wait to hear your thoughts once you’ve finished it.
    Happy reading, Misty!
