This Week In Books

My Week In Books 10/4 – 10/10

Hello bookworms!!

This week was another busy but laid back week. I had to take my mother in law to her appointments everyday. She’s now halfway through. I then had to babysit late Friday and Saturday Night. All throughout the week I was reading like crazy. Since the start of the month I have been reading basically a book a day but then the babysitting cut into my reading time so I slowed down a little bit. I still got a lot of reading done though so I am happy with that.

~ Recently Finished ~

The first book I finished this week was City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab. This was my first book by this author even though I own several of her books. This was a quick easy read that I ended up liking. I then read The Beast of Beswick by Amalie Howard. This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I really enjoyed this one. I honestly don’t think I have ever not enjoyed a Beauty and the Beast retelling. I then went on to read The Deal by Elle Kennedy which I loved. lastly I read The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert. This is my second book by this author I believe and while I enjoyed this one it wasn’t my favorite.

~ Currently Reading ~

City of Fallen Angels

I am so close to finishing City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare. This is a buddy read I am doing with Erin. I’m currently 324 pages into this one and I will be finishing it sometime this week. As I say every time I talk about any of the books in this series I am still enjoying it but boy the more I read the more I get frustrated with everything that’s happening.

~ Reading Next ~

Thinner

I know for sure that I will be starting Thinner by Stephen King next because I am already behind on the group read of this. We had our first discussion yesterday and I haven’t even started the book so I had to skip it. Beyond that I don’t know which one of my TBR books I will be in the mood to pick up next.

What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?

  1. I’m in a Historical Romance mood and you’re making me want to reread The Beast of Beswick. I also haven’t read any Beauty and the Beast retelling that I didn’t like. I just read fantasy retelling, For the Wolf, which I initially thought a Little Red Riding Hook retelling but after finishing it, I can say it’s more BatB retelling.

      1. It turned out I didn’t post a review or even a rating on Goodreads for the Beast of Beswick so I think yes, I will reread it. 😀 Also, I know it has a sequel, the story of her sister.

And oh I just posted my first update for Tropeathon. 🙂

      2. I haven’t looked into her book yet but I need too. Maybe it will be a retelling as well. I would think since the first one was the second one would be too. I love retellings too but surprisingly I don’t read very many. BatB retellings is what I’ve read the most of I’m pretty sure.
