My Week In Books 10/25 – 10/31

Hello bookworms!!

Wow what a week this was. I’m no longer having to take my mother in law to appointments everyday but she still has several appointments she has to go to that I have to take her to and now I am having to work in physical therapy appointments for me for my wrists. I don’t have Carpal Tunnel or Arthritis which is good but I have Cubital Tunnel in my left arm which causes numbness and tingling in my hand plus I have flare ups in both my wrists that causes pain and they can get swollen. My doctor said he thought physical therapy would really help so that’s what I am trying right now. Oh and of course all of this is just because of overuse. Me being a double amputee and in a wheelchair I rely on my arms a lot. I feel like I am falling apart. I still need to get my shoulder fixed where I have a tear in my rotator cuff but I have put that off to help my mother in law. On Thursday my husband called me and told me he was in a wreck. He was on his way home from work and a lady pulled out in front of him. He slammed on his brakes and locked it up but he still hit her. Luckily no one was hurt. I’m pretty sure her car was totaled. My husbands truck doesn’t look to bad but he did say it was driving weird. Right now we are waiting to get the police report. The lady tried saying he was on the phone but he wasn’t. He’s a stickler for not being on the phone while driving. He’s been stiff and sore since it happened but other than that he’s been good. Now for a little while at least I have to be his chauffeur back and forth to work. As for my reading this week I managed to finish 2 books. It’s a little less than normal but considering everything I have on my plate lately I think I am doing pretty good at keeping up with my reading.

~ Recently Finished ~

I finally finished Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice this week after reading it for 3 weeks. I didn’t end up loving this one like I expected to but I did like it. I did like it enough to want to continue on with the series. Lastly I finished Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan. This book was not what I was expecting at all. It was so hard to listen to but I did end up really loving it.

~ Currently Reading ~

I finally got Survive the Night by Riley Sager from the library. This was the group read for Tropeathon unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish it on time. I have started it though and I do plan to finish it. So far I am only 82 pages into it so I don’t have to much of an opinion yet but I will say it has been a little bit repetitive which is starting to get annoying. I am so far behind on my buddy read of City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare. We should be reading through chapter 15 this week and I have literally only read the first chapter (4%). Again I haven’t read enough to have an opinion yet.

~ Reading Next ~

I haven’t shared my November TBR yet so I’m not going to say what I am going to be reading next plus I don’t really know yet what book I want to pick up first. For now I am just going to focus on the books I am currently reading.

What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?

  1. I’m so sorry about your pain with the arms & wrists. Really hope the physical therapy works. Seems like a very very stressful week – hope it will get better soon.

I read Interview with the Vampire a million years ago and remember feeling similar – I liked it but didn’t love it. Have you read Lestat? I was thinking about picking it up!

  2. Glad no one was hurt in the accident, Misty, and also hope the accident report is in your favor. I’d think it would be easy to check phone records if it came to that. Physical therapy is no picnic, but it sure helps – hope yours goes well!

    1. Thank you Teri!! Me too! The officer said he could tell she was in the middle of the road just by looking at where her debris is so I’m hoping in comes back in our favor as well. I thought the same thing about the phone records. Thanks I sure hope I get some pain relief!!

    1. This was my first time reading it and I enjoyed it enough to want to continue with the series but unfortunately I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. I think my lack of love for it had to do with the formatting.
