This Week In Books

My Week In Books 11/1 – 11/7

Hello bookworms!!

Not a whole lot happened this week. We were finally able to pick up the accident report from where my husband got in a wreck a little over a week ago and we started the process of getting it covered. The lady was at fault so now we just have to wait for all of that. One good thing my husband will be getting a rental car so I don’t have to drive him back and forth to work anymore. I did get some reading done but I didn’t finish any books this week unfortunately. Here’s a look a my week of reading.

~ Recently Finished ~

Danse Macabre

Danse Macabre is this months #KeeperofKing group read and I have decided to DNF @  page 208. I don’t read non fiction so I knew going into this one that I might not like it but I was hopeful because I loved On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft but this one just isn’t working for me. It feels like it is just name dropping a lot of horror movies and books and it’s spoiling them for me because most of what has been mentioned I haven’t read or watched yet and beyond that I just couldn’t care less. I was hoping to finish it just so I can eventually say I have read all of Kings books but I don’t want to force myself to read a book I’m not liking when there are so many books I would rather be reading instead.

~ Currently Reading ~

I really need to get back to Survive the Night by Riley Sager. I’m still only 82 pages into it because I keep picking up other books. I did make some progress in City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare this week. I’m 241 pages into it which is almost halfway. I’m still enjoying the story but at the same time I feel like this series was dragged out way to much and at this point I am ready for it to be over. Luckily there is only one book left. Last but not least I started The Stand by Stephen King and this King book I am enjoying. I’m only 126 pages into this behemoth of a book.

~ Reading Next ~

I am itching to start Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco and I will most likely be starting it today because I have to take my mother in law to an appointment so I need something to do while I wait. Once I finish that one I will most likely jump into The Wish by Nicholas Sparks. I will be listening to The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune on audiobook and I usually listen to audiobooks while I wait for my mother in law but I might save this one for the weekend since I really want to read KotC. I’m also really considering rereading The Hating Game by Sally Thorne but listening to the audiobook this time just because I have been wanting to reread it for a while now but we will see if I can fit a reread into my TBR.

What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?

  1. Glad you got the accident report settled and have a rental car. Having one car is no fun at all. I read The House in the Cerulean Sea, but heard the audiobook narrator is amazing. I really think you’ll love it, Misty. Have a great week!
