Goodreads Book Tag

Tag

Hello bookworms!!

I wasn’t tagged to do this but when I saw Lucy’s post I knew I wanted to do it because like her I am an avid user of Goodreads even though I am starting to use the StoryGraph now too. I have done this tag twice before in 2016 and 2017 but for the most part my answers are going to be different this time around. I’m not sure who the original creator of this tag is so if you know please let me know in the comments so I can give them the proper credit. If you aren’t already following Lucy’s blog you should definitely go give her a follow. Lets get to the questions now shall we.

WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU MARKED AS READ?

Long Shot

This was the last book I finished and it was also the last book I read in October. So far I haven’t finished a book in November which is kind of a bummer. I really enjoyed this one despite it not being what I originally expected it to be but it was a difficult read.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

I am currently in the middle of 4 different books at the moment. I’m 82 pages into Survive the Night by Riley Sager, 241 pages into City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare, 126 pages into The Stand by Stephen King and 78 pages into Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco. Hopefully I will start finishing some books soon.

WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU MARKED AS TBR?

Book Lovers

I came across this book in Marie’s post about 2022 contemporary romances and the synopsis sounded like something I would be interested in so I added it to my Goodreads TBR so I wouldn’t forget about it.

WHAT BOOK DO YOU PLAN TO READ NEXT?

The Wish

I’m kind of in the mood to pick up all of the books at the moment but I will most likely be picking up The Wish by Nicholas Sparks because I’ve been wanting to read it since it released at the end of September.

DO YOU USE THE STAR RATING SYSTEM?

I do use the star rating system. I mostly stick to 1-5 star ratings but sometimes I give out half star ratings as well. I know we all have our own meanings behind our ratings and here’s mine.

My Rating System:

5 Stars: Loved it
4 Stars: Really liked it
3 Stars: It was ok I liked it but I wasn’t blown away by it
2 Stars: Didn’t like it
1 Star: DNFed

I rate books on how much I enjoyed it and how invested I was in the book not so much the technical aspect of the writing sometimes I get technical if something bothers me enough to mention it but for the most part it’s out of pure enjoyment..

ARE YOU DOING A 2022 READING CHALLENGE?

For the past 4 years now I believe I have been setting my Goodreads Reading Challenge for 100 books and I will be doing the same thing for 2022 beyond that I don’t know what reading challenges I will be doing in 2022.

DO YOU HAVE A WISHLIST?

I do have an Amazon wishlist. You can see all of the books I currently have on my wishlist here. I mostly just add books on there that I eventually want to get myself because I don’t expect anyone to buy me books. I have had a few people surprise me with books which I greatly appreciate but it’s never expected.

WHAT BOOK DO YOU PLAN TO BUY NEXT?

I don’t really plan to buy any books. I know that’s sad but while there are so many books I would love to have like yesterday I am trying to cut back on buying books because money is tight and so far I think I have done an ok job at that this year.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE QUOTES?

When I am reading a book I very rarely stop to keep track of quotes because to do that it would pull me out of the story and I just don’t have time for that and I definitely can’t remember quotes without writing them down. I will say a quote that I actually took the time to take a picture of so I could write it down later came from one of my recent reads Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco is “Love and hate are both rooted in passion.” I liked that quote.

WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS?

Nicholas Sparks is my all time favorite author and I don’t ever see that changing. However over the years I have added some new authors to that list. Kerri Maniscalco and James J. Cudney just to name a couple. I will read everything these authors write.

HAVE YOU JOINED ANY GROUPS?

I have joined some groups on Goodreads however I don’t really actively participate in any of them unfortunately. I don’t use Goodreads for the groups so I tend to forget about them.

That’s all for todays post. I hope you enjoyed my answers. Have you read any of the books I mentioned in this post? If you would like to do this tag then consider yourself tagged just please link back to a specific post of mine because I would love to see your answers to these questions.
