My Week In Books 12/20 – 12/26

Blogmas

Hello bookworms!!

I got a pretty good bit of reading done this week despite it being the week of Christmas. I also went to a friend’s house for a Christmas dinner that they do every year on Christmas Eve. They open their presents from each other that day and then they open presents from Santa on Christmas. I got a few gifts from them even though every year I tell them they don’t need to get me anything. I just love watching all of the kids opening their presents. I got a new candle which smells amazing, an amazon gift card and a shampoo and conditioner set. The day after Christmas it was in the 70s, so I went with my husband fishing, but I just sat in the car and read my book while he was fishing. Other than that, I didn’t do much else this week. Here’s a look at what my reading has looked like over the past week.

~ Recently Finished ~

Last week I said I was going to focus on my currently reading books and I wanted to try and fit in some Christmas books. I finished 2 of the 3 books I was reading and I also managed to read 2 of the 3 Christmas books I wanted to get to. The first book I finished was From Fame to Ruin by Jina S. Bazzar. This was technically a reread for me but it had been so long since I read it the first time that I didn’t remember anything about it. I ended up really enjoying this one. I then finished City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. I have to say I am so glad we are finished with this series but I also have to say I think this might be my favorite book out of all of them. I then read The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore on Christmas Eve. This is just a quick cute little story to read every year. It’s meant for kids but I still like to read it. I then reread A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I like to reread this every year. I just love this story.

~ Currently Reading ~

The Stand

Yes, I am still working my way through The Stand by Stephen King. I’m currently 1,156 pages into this 1,440 page book and I am still really enjoying it.

~ Reading Next ~

The Burning World

Jonny and I will be starting our buddy read of The Burning World by Isaac Marion on Tuesday. This is the second book in the Warm Bodies series that we started earlier this month. This book has a lot riding on it because it’s going to determine whether or not I continue on with the series after this book. I’m not sure if we will finish it before the end of the year or not but I don’t have any issues with carrying a book over into the new year if I have to.

What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?
