Mini Reviews: Let It Snow, The Christmas Shoes & The Cycle Of The Werewolf

Blogmas

Hello bookworms!!

Today’s post is going up way late. I didn’t work on this post yesterday so I had planned to do it this morning when I got up but then I ended up sleeping in which I haven’t done in a long time. At least I haven’t slept in the late in a long time. I guess I needed the extra sleep. Once I woke up I ate lunch and then ran some errands. I was about to get swept up in YouTube videos when I remembered I still needed to do this. I haven’t missed a day of blogmas yet and I don’t want to start now so I am going to be sharing some reviews with y’all today. I read these at the beginning of the month so they might not be the greatest reviews.

Let It Snow

Let it Snow by Cassie Cross

**** (4 stars)

I started the month off reading this book because it was such a short book and I wanted to feel like I had accomplished something. This was such a cute friends to lovers romance. It has a road trip plus they get stranded in a random town because of a blizzard and more cuteness ensues. Honestly this was just a cute easy Christmas read even if it was a little cliche.

The Christmas Shoes

The Christmas Shoes by Donna VanLiere

**** (4 stars)

This is another one that I picked up because it was such a short read. I have also really loved the song. I never actually knew it was a book. I know there’s a movie but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it but I would like to watch it. As for the book, it is heartbreaking. We follow 2 families both of which are struggling to stay together for two completely different reasons. They live in the same small town and end up helping each other without knowing it. As I said this book is heartbreaking. I listened to it one night after everyone went to bed and I’m surprised I didn’t wake my husband up because I was sniffling like crazy because I was crying so much. While it will definitely pull at your heartstrings there are also lessons to be learned while reading it. I will for sure be continuing on in the series next year.

Cycle of the Werewolf

Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King

****.5 (4.5 stars)

This book is told in 12 chapters all titled January, February, etc. and almost every month is about someone different. This threw me off at first because it was like we were only getting little snippets of someone’s story and then we would move on to the next person. The further into it I read thought the more into it I got. It eventually got to a point where we weren’t getting a bunch of different stories and it flowed nicely and made sense. I do have to say I guessed who the werewolf was pretty early on but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment. This book has great disability rep and this is a huge reason why I ended up enjoying it so much. I can’t really go into detail about that because it is spoilery. Overall I really loved this book and could see myself rereading it.
