Hello bookworms!!
Every year I start off these posts saying they are the hardest for me to do because I am such an indecisive person and I have a lot to choose from which makes it even harder to narrow down. I gave 28 books a 5 star rating and 69 books a 4 or 4.5 star rating. Here are my favorite books of 2021 in no particular order
I was so hesitant going into this book because everyone became a Rhysand fan after reading this. When I finished reading the first book I was team Tamlin and I didn’t understand how anyone could love Rhysand so much. Well after reading this one I now understand. I absolutely loved everything about this book and now after the way this one ended I’m scared to read the next book.
It’s so hard for me to put into words my feelings for this book. I ended up reading it in one sitting I was so enthralled by it. It’s brutally honest and heart wrenching. As soon as I finished this the first thing I said was wow!! This was just a brilliant book that everyone should read.
I love that this was a book about books and how the books were their own characters. I loved the plot, I loved the characters even the villain. I have never loved/rooted for a villain(s) so much in my life. I love that this book made me love the villains. Honestly, I just loved everything about it.
As you know I read at least 1 King book every month and I’ve been doing this for a few years now. Some of his books are hits and some are misses. This one was a definite hit. When we started this book I was so confused and had no clue what was going on but I was so drawn into the story wanting to know how things played out and this is one instance where King got an ending right. Everything worked for me in this book which was a complete surprise for me.
I have to include this trilogy as a whole. I went into it not really expecting much. I just knew that I had added it to my TBR previously and when I was invited to buddy read it, I thought why not. I am so glad I did. It is a little hard to keep up with all of the characters and the timeframe but once I just let all that go and just focused on reading I loved it. It’s definitely one that I think I could benefit from rereading and I could see myself rereading this at some point.
I loved absolutely everything about this book. The world, the plot, the magic, the characters. Especially the characters!! The banter between the two main characters was amazing. If I had the other books in this series I would have binge read all of them that’s how drawn in I was.
This book was everything I was hoping it would be and more. The banter between the two main characters was still amazing plus the romance was HOT!! There were some twists I definitely saw coming but there were some I didn’t see and it was all just amazing. I can’t wait for the final book in this trilogy to be released next year.
I always see people raving about this author and I’ve always wanted to read his books but I kept putting it off. I am so glad I finally picked up one. This book while simple in it’s plot and world building was absolutely amazing. I think that’s part of why it was so amazing. I loved all of the characters and the audiobook narrator was phenomenal. I will definitely be picking up more by this author.
I’m glad I waited to share this post until after I finished The Stand because it is definitely a surprise favorite of the year. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. I did struggle with the size of it a little bit but the story was incredible. This definitely makes it on my top 5 of King list for sure.
Those are my favorite books of 2021. Have you read any of these? Do you agree with me? What were your favorite books of 2021? I would love to chat with you in the comments.

Oh I hope you end up loving Kingdom of the Cursed. I can’t wait for the final book in that trilogy especially after the ending of KotC. Serpent & Dove was amazing. I really want to read the other book in that series but I don’t own the books yet.

Such a great list! House in the cerulean sea was so good 😀 And I became a Rhysand fan after ACOMAF too! Kite runner and sorcery of thorns are both great books as well!

Thank you!! Yeah I think everyone became a Rhysand fan. I shouldn’t have questioned everyone 😂
