Hello bookworms!!
Back in January of 2021 I shared this post. In that post I listed all of the physical books on my shelf that were unread. My plan was to update that post throughout the year and here I am a year later doing my first update. Oops!! In todays post I am basically just sharing that post again but I have included the books I added in 2021 and I am also going to include links to reviews of books that I ended up reading in 2021 that way I can see where I am starting 2022 off at. I might end up creating another post that just has the unread books that way I can hopefully update it throughout the year but we will see what I end up doing. At the beginning of 2021 I had 162 unread books on my shelf and my goal was to get it to 100. Did I accomplish this? Ok enough of me blabbing let’s get to all of the books so we can find out together if I got my TBR to 100.

Out of the 162 I started the year off with I only read 31 of them so I got this list down to 131 unread books. So I didn’t reach my goal of getting it down to 100 but I am still proud of myself for making a dent in this list. However, I did end up adding more physical books to my shelves in 2021. 30 to be exact. Of those 30 I only bought 15.

Out of the 30 physical books I added to my bookshelves this year I have read and reviewed 13 of them. Yes Kingdom of the Cursed is on this list twice because I bought 2 editions of that book although I am actually still waiting on 1 to come in the mail and I don’t really think it is going to get here before the end of the year but I am still counting it. I am left with 17 unread books on this list. Add this to the 131 books remaining on the first list and I now have 148 unread physical books on my shelves. That adds up to me only clearing 14 books off of my shelf this year. That number is not as satisfying but it’s still progress and that is all I can ask for at this point.
Now I want to make my own list of all unread books. I’ll definitely start with NetGalley one as I buy less and read from shelf more than I can finish NetGalley books.

I luckily got my NetGalley shelf down to one book last year which I plan to read this month. I did just get sent a NetGalley widget though so I guess it’s not at 2 books but it’s still pretty much empty.

I get 10-15 widgets every two months from publisher and it’s always hard to not download them. I don’t see my NatGalley empty anytime in future but I hope to make it manageable or increase my reading speed and honestly I don’t know that’s possible. 😂

That’s amazing!! I get widgets every now and then and it’s always been from the same person but different authors. This is the first time I’ve ever gotten mine down. I was determined in 2021 to read all of the backlist books in my NetGalley shelves because most of them were from 2017.

It’s great to get eARCs but in soon turns unmanagable and more because I don’t get it very early. It’s like I’ll get Feb and March release in beginning of Feb so that gives me little time to read them by publication date and then there are books on shelf and all.
Mine are from 2020 ever since the lockdown! That’s good idea to go for backlist. I think I’ll do the same or probably one newest and one oldest.

Yeah I love getting eARCs but agree it can get stressful.
Mine were from when I first signed up. I got a little trigger happy and requested a lot not thinking I would get approved and then by the time I did get approved I wasn’t in the mood to read them so I kept putting them off. Yeah it was a mess lol but I’m caught up. The two books I have now are being released this year and I’m going to do my best to stay on top of things and not go crazy requesting a lot.

I don’t think I want to make a list, because I probably have over 300. I think I read 3 off my bookshelves last year, so you did better than I did. This is a nice way for you to track though.

This is only the physical books. I need to do a list of the ebooks as well but I have to talk myself into doing it lol. One of my goals last year was to read more of my owned books so I’m glad I actually did that. Yes I love having the list and seeing how the number fluctuates each year.

I might do this when I get home. It will also help me to purge ones that I know I will never read.

I did a purge with my ebooks but I could never do that with the physical books I own. If I haven’t read them I know I wouldn’t be able to get rid of them. Good luck and I hope it’s fun for you!!
