This Week In Books

My Week In Books 5/2 – 5/8

Hello bookworms!!

Before we jump into today’s post I hope all of you mommas out there had a Happy Mother’s Day yesterday. This week was a little bit better than last week reading wise. I finished 2 books this week which is one more book than last week. Ever since my uncle passed away in March I have been looking for a small plant to have kind of as a memory plant for him because he loved flowers. I finally bought something this weekend. It’s actually 3 in 1. I have no idea what these are so if you know please tell me in the comments. I know they are succulents and that they are supposed to be easy to keep alive.

~ Recently Finished ~

The first book I finished this week was Dark Obsessions by Marie Sutro. I read and reviewed this as part of a blog tour I participated in so if you want to see my full thoughts on this book you can check out that review. Overall, I enjoyed this book but did have some minor issues with it. Lastly, I finished last months Lost in Romance Book Club pick Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade. There were aspects of this book that I really enjoyed and there were aspect of it that I really didn’t enjoy.

~Currently Reading ~

I didn’t make any progress on The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare last week but it’s an easy read so I should be able to read 4 stories this week to catch up. I started Insomnia by Stephen King this weekend. It’s this month’s pick for the #KeeperofKing group. I’m 225 pages into it which is 25%. So far, I don’t really have much of an opinion because not much is happening yet. I am intrigued enough to want to keep reading so that’s something. I did make some more progress in By the Book by Jasmine Guillory. This book released on the 3rd, so I am late on reviewing it. What’s new? But I am enjoying it so far. I’m currently 26% into this one.

~ Reading Next ~

Starry-Eyed Love

I haven’t shared my May TBR yet so as to not spoil it completely I am only going to share one book that I really need to get read and that’s Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting. This one releases on the 10th so I am once again going to be late reviewing it but if I can get it reviewed in the month that it releases I will be happy.

Keep an eye out for my May TBR coming soon. What have you recently finished? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?

  1. I’m no help naming them, but those succulents are so cute! I got my mom succulents for Mother’s Day, and she was able to post a picture online in a facebook group and get help finding out what they were, I think – so you might be able to try something like that if you’re still looking to find out! ♥
