Hello bookworms!!
I’m getting this post up a little later today. Usually, I schedule these the day before, but I was busy reading. I think reading is a good excuse to slack a little don’t you? Anyways this week has been another boring week for me. I don’t have any life updates for y’all, but my reading update is the best it has been all year. Honestly, I think this is the best reading week I’ve ever had but I could be wrong because I don’t have the best memory. Let’s just jump right into the reading update so y’all can see how well I did. Sorry I’m really proud of myself can you tell?
~ Recently Finished ~
I finished 6 books this week!! I can’t believe I read 6 books in a week. Usually, I read 3 maybe 4 in a week. And another good thing is that I enjoyed everything I read. The first book I read was Twisted Love by Ana Huang. I was supposed to read this last month for the Lost in Romance Book Club but that didn’t happen, so I ended up reading it for #Tropeathon which started on the 12th. I ended up really enjoying this one. It got a little darker than I was expecting toward the end but that didn’t affect my enjoyment of the book at all. I then read Queen Takes Knights by Joely Sue Burkhart. This book was a lot bloodier than I was expecting although based on the cover and synopsis I totally should have expected all of the blood. It’s insta lust/love and the MC accepts everything way quicker than I would think anybody would but other than that I ended up enjoying it more than I was expecting to. Next up was Grading Curves by Naima Simone. When I picked this book, I didn’t know it was a novella. I don’t tend to read novella/short stories all that often because most of the time I am left feeling like I didn’t get enough of a story. Luckily that wasn’t the case for this book. I felt like this was a cute story on its own. Next up was Desperate Measures by Katee Robert. I’ve been wanting to start this series for a while now but I’m not a villain girl so I was worried I wouldn’t like these books. That was so not the case. I ended up enjoying this one way more than I was expecting to. There is a scene of consensual non consent sex that I didn’t particularly care for. I then read the last Strange Planet book. At least I think it’s the last one. This one was The Sneaking, Hiding Vibrating Creature by Nathan W. Pyle. I’ve really enjoyed these books. They are so cute and kind of funny. Last up I read Royally Matched by Emma Chase. The first half of this book was so funny. The last half was a little more serious, but I really loved this one. All of these books I read for #Tropeathon except for the Strange planet book.
~ Currently Reading ~
Along with the 6 I managed to finish this week I also have 4 more on the go. Some I made progress on this week and some I didn’t. I haven’t picked up Blaze by Richard Bachman again since I first picked it up so I am still only 87 pages into it but I will be finishing this one this week because the #KeeperofKing discussion is on Sunday. I also haven’t made anymore progress in The Watchers by John Reid and I’m only 98 pages into this one. I need to get back to this one soon because my blog tour stop is coming up on the 28th. I started my buddy read of Under the Dome by Stephen King this week. I got 187 pages into this one and so far I’m into it. We will be reading this book over the next 2 months because it’s a big one. Last but not least I made more progress in Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare and it is another buddy read I am participating in. I’m now 414 pages into this one and still into it. Not a whole lot is really happening yet but it’s still good.
~ Reading Next ~
Fake It Till You Bake It releases tomorrow. I was hoping to have it read by release day but I don’t think that’s going to happen so my goal now is to finish it before the end of the month. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata, Idol by Kristen Callihan and Together We Caught Fire by Eva V. Gibson are the final 3 books on my #Tropeathon TBR. There are other books I would like to get to this week as well but we will see if I can have 2 good reading weeks in a row.
What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?
Love all the reading you got done! I’m really wanting to read Chase’s Royally series and I need to finish the VIP series, too.

Thank you!! So far I’ve read the first 2 books in the Royally series and enjoyed both of them. Honestly if it wasn’t for this round of Tropeathon there’s no telling when I would have made progress on either of the series.
