My Week In Books 6/20 – 6/26

Hello bookworms!!

Once again, I have nothing to update y’all on outside of what I’ve been reading. My life is pretty boring. I did it again!! I managed to finish 6 books for the 2nd week in a row. I wonder how long I can keep this up. Anyways here’s a look at what my reading has been like this week.

~ Recently Finished ~

The first book I finished this week was Blaze by Richard Bachman (aka Stephen King). I ended up enjoying this one. King did a great job at making me feel for the villain of the story which literally never happens. I then read Fake It Till You Bake It by Jamie Wesley which I got through NetGalley and again I enjoyed this one. I thought it was funny and it had a little bit of steam. Next up was The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata. This was this months pick for the Lost in Romance Book Club and I loved it. This was a chunkier book and I finished it in 2 days. I then read Idol by Kristen Callihan. I read the second book in this series last year and I wanted to go back and read the first book and continue on with the series. I ended up enjoying this one but the second book is my favorite so far. Together We Caught Fire by Eva V. Gibson was a recommendation from Destiny and I am so glad she recommended it to me because I probably wouldn’t have read it otherwise. I loved this book and it had me in tears at one point. Last up I read Between Shades of Gray The Graphic Novel by Ruta Sepetys. I read the original version of this a while ago. I had no idea there was a graphic novel version so when I saw this at my library I had to get it. Of course you can’t get as much story from a graphic novel but I think this did a great job at depicting the story especially with the graphics included.

~ Currently Reading ~

I didn’t make any progress in Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare this week, so I am still only 414 pages into this one. I made a little bit of progress in Under the Dome by Stephen King which I will be reading for the next couple of months. I’m now 385 pages into it and liking it. I started Her Dark Reflection by Hailey Jade last night but only managed to read the first chapter so I don’t have an opinion on that one yet. You might notice that The Watchers by John Reid isn’t on here anymore and that’s because I have decided to DNF it. I really tried to make it through this book. I read 45% of it before I finally decided I couldn’t force it anymore. I feel bad not finishing it because it was sent to me for a blog tour review but like I said I just couldn’t force it anymore.

~ Reading Next ~

My blog tour stop for Dead Drift by Kelly Romo is coming up on Thursday so I will be focusing on getting this book read. Anything else I manage to read will be a bonus.
