My Week In Books 6/27 – 7/3

Hello bookworms!!

This week me and my husband celebrated 16 years together. We started dating on July 1, 2006. I’ve officially been with him for half of my life at this point. I can’t believe it has been so long already. We will have lots of things to celebrate in the coming weeks. Our wedding anniversary is this weekend plus my husband and our dog Shelby have birthdays coming up so like I said lots of celebrating in this house. After 2 weeks of reading 6 books each week my reading finally slowed back down this week. Here’s what my reading has looked like this past week.

~ Recently Finished ~

Dead Drift by Kelly Romo and Her Dark Reflection by Hailey Jade were the last 2 books I needed to get read in June and they were also books I read for blog tours. My reviews for these are up on the blog now if you are interested in my full thoughts on either of them. I did enjoy both of these, but I also had some issues with both of them. Lastly, I finally read Heartstopper vol. 3 by Alice Oseman. These graphic novels are quick easy reads, and they are so cute. Can’t wait to read the next one and luckily, I already have it on Libby so it shouldn’t be too long of a wait.

~ Currently Reading ~

I’m Currently in the middle of three books. The first 2 books are buddy reads. Lady Midnight I am reading with Erin. We have about 2 more weeks of reading this before we finish it. I’m liking this but not as much as previous books we’ve read in this world. I’ve read 550 pages which is 76% of the book. At this point we should have some clue as to what is going on and I am still totally clueless. Plus, I’m over how Clare drags things out so freaking much. Under the Dome is a book I am reading with Nina over on Instagram. I’m 585 pages into this one which is close to halfway through it. I’m into this book and I am enjoying the story but at times my intense hatred of some of the characters makes me want to throw my phone across the room. These horrible characters are kind of overshadowing the main story, but I am keen to continue reading and find out how King ends this. Lasy up I’ve started The Survivors by T.C. Weber. I’m exactly halfway through this book and I’m not 100% sure how I feel about it yet. I’m into it and want to know what happens. I am on the blog tour for this one on Friday so keep an eye out for my review then.

~ Reading Next ~

I’m working on finalizing my July TBR right now, but I will share the next book I will for sure be picking up and that is The Elephant Girl by Henriette Gyland. I’m on the blog tour for this book on Saturday so keep an eye out for my review then.
