This week didn’t go completely to plan. I had hoped to read more than I did but as it is I am happy I got the 2 books read that I needed to read for blog tours. This year has been really hard on my family especially this month. My uncle passed away on Friday and we had his funeral yesterday. This is the 3rd person in my family to pass away in the past 2 weeks and the 4th person this year. I had another uncle pass away earlier this year. To say we are having a hard time is an understatement. I started therapy again this week so we will see if it helps this time or not. Other than that, I haven’t been doing a whole lot of anything. Here is what my reading has looked like this week.
~ Recently Finished ~
The first book I finished this week was Field Rules by Carla Luna and it ended up being a new favorite. I loved everything about this book, and I can’t wait to read more books in this series. I then went on to read Invitation to Hell by Amber Bunch. I thought this was a good start to a new series, but it definitely needed some fine tuning.
~ Currently Reading ~
Erin and I are still making our way through Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. We are currently 450 pages into it which is 60% of the book. The section that we read this week was a little slower than the previous sections we read but I am still really enjoying it and can’t wait to find out what happens next. I started A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi and read the first 5 chapters which was 15% of the book. I was listening to the audiobook on Scribd and unfortunately the audiobook is messed up. I have contacted Scribd about it but so far, I haven’t heard anything back. I didn’t read enough to really form an opinion on it yet and plus I feel like I have missed some stuff where the audiobook cuts out.
~ Reading Next ~
I will be starting At the Gate by Trey Stone today. I am on the blog tour for this book on Friday. Hopefully it will be a quick read. I still have to make my TBR for September, so this is the only book I know for sure that I will be reading next. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to all of the books I planned to read in August but that’s ok. I might carry some of them over into September.
What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?
