Hello bookworms!!
Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by lost in a story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well, that’s going to change!
It works like this:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go
I have decided that I am only going to include images of the books I am keeping so I don’t use up too much of my photo storage. Also, if I haven’t started a series, I am only going to be keeping the first book in the series. There’s a possibility they will be added back if I enjoyed the first book enough to want to carry on. And lastly, I can already tell you that if I own the book, I will not be taking it off my want to read shelf whether it’s the first book in a series or the last.
Keeping:
I got this for free on Kindle several years ago and I am still slowly making my way through classic novels, so I do still want to read this one and since I already have this book, I am keeping it on my TBR.
Unlike the previous book I don’t actually own this one yet, but I am keeping it on my TBR because I am still interested in reading more classics and this is one that I am really interested in reading because I think I will really enjoy it.
According to my rules I should keep the first book and remove the rest of the series until I read the previous book however I will be keeping this entire series on my TBR because I own every single one of these books. I really want to start this series.
I was going back and forth about whether or not I wanted to keep this one and reviews didn’t really help me all that much. If you’ve read this one, please comment below letting me know what you thought of it (no spoilers please). Just based off the synopsis I think this could be a cute story that I could really enjoy.
I own this book on Kindle so I will be keeping it plus I read some reviews of people I trust that made me think keeping it was a good idea.
The synopsis sounds very intriguing, and I saw a lot of good reviews for it so I will be keeping this on my TBR for now.
Removing:
You Will Know Me by Megan Abbott
Obsession by Helen Hardt
Possession by Helen Hardt
The Museum of Heartbreak by Meg Leder
A World Without You by Beth Revis
The Lover’s Dictionary by David Levithan
The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout
- Kept – 13
- Removed – 7
- Starting Amount – 1,746
- Previous Amount – 1,577
- New Amount – 1,570
It’s been almost 2 months since I did one of these posts and I thought it was time to get back to it. I got rid of 7 this week and kept 13. I’m still making progress but because I keep adding more books these numbers aren’t accurate. The new amount total does not include the books I have added to my TBR since starting this little challenge. Once I get to the end, I will let y’all know how many books I added while doing this. Did I get rid of a book that you think I should keep? Let me know in the comments why you think I should add it back because I can definitely be persuaded to change my mind.
Throne of Glass is such a great series! I want to unread so I can read fresh all over again!

I know it’s going to be a series I will enjoy but I keep putting it off.

It is a big series so it’s certainly a commitment!

That’s true!! The length of it doesn’t bother me though. I thinks it’s because of how hyped and loved it is.

I don’t think I’m familiar with You Know Me Well. I love the Throne of Glass series, though. You definitely need to get on that! LOL!

Honestly I don’t even remember adding most of these books but it sounds good.
